Established in the 19th century, Edgbaston Cricket Ground is a leading sporting venue in the UK. It has hosted a number of major international matches as well as the T20 Blast Finals Day, and more recently was also chosen to host the Cricket World Cup 2019, which saw England beat long-term rivals Australia in the semi-finals.
In 1886, Edgbaston hosted its first match against the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club), attracting 3000 spectators over a period of two days. Two months later, more than 6,000 spectators attended to watch the match against Australia. The stadium can now hold a capacity of 25,000 and every seat tends to be filled during a match.
