AP McCoy Cheltenham Festival

BBC Sports Personality of the Year heads for Belfast

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards will be held at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena in 2015. With Eventmasters horse racing hospitality ambassador AP McCoy the bookies favourite to win the award for a second time.

The annual awards show will take place on 20 December 2015 and will look back on a jam packed year of sport which includes the World Cup, The Ashes, The Open Championships and Wimbledon.

Recently retired 20 time champion jockey AP McCoy is 9/4 favourite to win the award in his native country and would be an extremely popular winner. In 2010 he became the first jockey to win the award after winning the Grand National aboard Don’t Push It.

The ceremony hosted by Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan and Clare Balding will be watched by 8,000 people inside the arena and millions on television. The spectacular event was won in 2014 by Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, and he could be a contender once again as he currently leads the driver’s championship.

It is certainly one of the highlights of the British sporting calendar and we are all hoping AP McCoy can pick up another award!
