At Birmingham City Football Club’s Player Awards, held at the ICC on Monday 6th May 2019, Eventmasters supported and raised funds for two chosen charities at the event for the 3rd year running. These charities were The Geoff Horsfield Foundation and Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid. A grand total of £1,500 was raised at the Player Awards evening and we were thrilled to present a cheque to the chosen charities, which will have the funds split between them.

The funds were secured through the kind support of the BCFC Members & guests whom we would like to thank dearly. Eventmasters is one of the UK’s leading and longest serving providers of corporate hospitality, with over 30 years of experience and we also make a number of charitable hospitality experiences available through our sister company, Silent Auction Events. Through the Eventmasters Foundation, our fundraising efforts aim to raise awareness and make long lasting positive change to all those impacted by the work of the charities we support.

The Geoff Horsfield Foundation, which was founded in 2016, aims to provide a measurable service with a sustainable impact on homelessness, vulnerability and its effect on the local community. The Foundation prides itself on providing quality, safe and secure housing accommodation for vulnerable adults who have fallen through the current support network.

Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid put women and children at the centre, by offering support to women and children affected by domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, FGM, and forced marriage. They challenge inequality and abuse that stem from a woman’s position in wider society and work closely with the police and housing agencies to ensure that women and children have the best outcomes.

Both are causes that make a hugely positive impact on many people’s lives.

We were delighted to be one of the recipients from the Annual BCFC fundraiser and to receive £750 that makes a fantastic contribution to our services for women and children affected by domestic abuse. We look forwards to working together over the next year.”

We are privileged to have been able to support two incredible causes and only look forward to continuing and growing these efforts in the future.

Eventmasters were delighted to present Prostate Cancer UK with a payment of £3,000 contributing to funds raised at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) annual awards dinner held at the ICC in Birmingham.

The funds were secured through the kind support of the GBCC Members & Guests who readily bid on lots within the Silent Auction staged by our sister company; Eventmasters make a number of hospitality experiences available through the Silent Auction Events Company, who manage every aspect of the auction at no cost to the organiser. These efforts not only help raise money but also help raise awareness of the charity and the incredible causes that they represent.

Prostate Cancer UK provide funding and support in the fight against prostate cancer; funding pioneering research and tirelessly campaigning to raise political and public awareness of the disease. We were very pleased to be part of the fundraising activity for Prostate Cancer UK, the nominated charity of Chamber President Saqib Bhatti.

Eventmasters through the Eventmasters Foundation, aim to create a lasting and positive impact on the wider society as well as those impacted by the work of the charities we support. The Eventmasters Foundation commits to donating a four-figure sum to each of its proposed charities every year; in 2019 the beneficiaries are Prostate Cancer UK, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and LoveBrum.

Eventmasters choose Prostate Cancer UK as Charity of the Year

Prostate Cancer UK is the latest charity to be supported by the Eventmasters Foundation. The Foundation was formed last year to ‘formalise’ the efforts that the corporate hospitality specialist has been making for the last 30 years in supporting numerous good causes.

Eventmasters has committed to donating a minimum four figure sum to each of its four chosen charities from the proceeds of fund raising activities and silent auctions at its own events. These efforts then culminate every December at the annual Midlands Sportsman’s Luncheon where a cheque presentation is held.

Prostate Cancer UK benefits alongside LoveBrum, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Eventmasters Managing Director Denise Sheasby, a former nurse herself, said: “Prostate cancer is a dreadful disease and claims many lives that if diagnosed earlier could have been saved. We want to work with the charity not only to raise funds but also to help raise awareness.

“Prostate Cancer UK has also been selected by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce as their charity of the year and, as Chamber partners and members, we were delighted to help raise funds at the Chambers’ Annual Dinner via our sister company, www.silentauctionevents.com; a big thank you to all of the guests in attendance on the night that helped raise in excess of £3,000.00 from the Silent Auction”

Rugby and Royalty combine at leading Christmas sports event in Birmingham

Mike Tindall, Rugby World Cup winner and husband of the Queen’s grand-daughter Zara Phillips, is the guest of honour at this year’s Midlands Sportsman’s Luncheon on Wednesday 12 December.

It represents another coup for organisers Eventmasters, the Birmingham-based UK sports hospitality agency – last year Sam Warburton, captain of the British & Irish Lions, provided the inside track on the 2017 tour to New Zealand.

Tindall’s take on the current England side and their chances in the 2019 World Cup in Japan will be particularly fascinating.

And no doubt there will be plenty of anecdotes from England’s 2003 victory.

Master of ceremonies will be Tim Stimpson, another England international.

Since retiring, Tindall has continued his rugby commitment, back at the grass roots with amateur club Minchinhampton RFC, who compete in Gloucester 2 – the pitch is conveniently located next to Gatcombe Park where he and Zara reside. Tindall, who with Zara, has all sorts of charity commitments, will during the afternoon present cheques to representatives of LoveBrum, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham charities who are the nominated benefactors of the Eventmasters Charitable Foundation. A series of fund raising activities have been carried out throughout the year. A silent auction will operate during the event.

Eventmasters add former Aston Villa Head of Commercial Operations to Team

Aston Villa’s former Head of Commercial Operations Abdul Rashid has recently joined Birmingham based company Eventmasters Ltd, one of the UK’s leading corporate hospitality specialists.

Rashid was Commercial Manager at Villa Park for over two decades prior to leaving in 2005. During his time with the club headed up the commercial operation and maximised income through activities which included brand identity, sponsorship activities, the sale of executive boxes and hospitality facilities.

Along with other commercial ventures such as broadcasting, catering, licencing and stadium hire, and was instrumental in a massive explosion of revenue from such activities.

Rashid sat on a number of working parties and committees during his time at Villa Park. Since leaving Aston Villa, Rashid has continued to work in sports industry, both on rights holder and client side – adding to his experiences working in cricket, darts, rugby and ice hockey.

Best ever line-up assembles for Aegon Classic Birmingham

The Aegon Classic Birmingham has attracted its strongest line-up in its 35-year history, with 15 of the world’s top 30 women’s players set to compete at the Edgbaston Priory Club from Saturday 11th – Sunday 19th June 2016.

As entries for the 32-player WTA Premier Event closed on Monday, Swiss star and World No. 10 Belinda Bencic added her name to the star-studded list of competitors. Bencic will join British No.1 Johanna Konta, Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber and former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki.

Grand Slam finalists Simona Halep and Lucie Safarova will also be among the star attractions for this integral pre-Wimbledon event, which is also one of the best events on WTA tour.

Laura Robson joins star field at Aegon Open Nottingham

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) have announced that another British star has joined the stellar field for the Aegon Open Nottingham (WTA) with Laura Robson awarded a wildcard for the event;  Saturday 4th – Sunday 12th June 2016

22-year-old Robson joins a strong British challenge for the tournament which is led by Australian Open semi-finalist Johanna Konta; while Heather Watson and Naomi Broady are also set to feature. They will be joined by two former World No.1’s in Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki.

Since making the last 16 of the 2013 Wimbledon Championships, Robson has endured a difficult time and made her return to action at the Aegon International Eastbourne in 2015 after a long-term wrist injury.

Speaking on the announcement, Robson said: “I am really looking forward to coming to Nottingham this summer. It has been a few years since I have played at the Nottingham Tennis Centre and I am excited to be returning as I remember how great the grass courts are there. I really enjoy this time of year, to be able to play in front of a home crowd, and it is fantastic to see a strong British turn out for the event as the fans always create such a great atmosphere.”

While The Aegon Open Nottingham (WTA) Tournament Director, Rebecca James, added: “I am delighted to add Laura’s name to the list of British players that will be gracing the grass courts of Nottingham this summer. It is shaping up to be an excellent field of players to entertain the crowds.”

The Aegon Open Nottingham will once again form a crucial part of the British grass-court season with both a WTA and ATP event taking place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre. The WTA event takes place 4th-12th June 2016; while the men’s ATP event 18th-25th June 2016.

FOOTBALL LEGENDS JOIN EVENTMASTERS FOR CRUCIAL EURO 2016 CLASH

Eventmasters are delighted to announce football legends Neville Southall and Graham Taylor will be guest speakers at our live screening for the Euro 2016 clash between England and Wales – Thursday 16th June 2016 (KO 14:00).

The event will take place inside the Horton Suite at Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham City Centre; and will be hosted by Sky Sports presenter and Eventmasters Sporting Ambassador Gary Newbon.

Neville Southall MBE is widely regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers of his generation and won a record 92 caps for Wales between 1982-1997.

He was also a key member of the successful Everton side of the 1980’s and won the Footballer of the Year award in 1985. He went on to make over 700 league appearances before his retirement in 2002.

Graham Taylor OBE is a man who needs no introduction to football fans in Birmingham. After five successful seasons at Watford, Taylor moved to the Midlands to manage Aston Villa in 1987.

He immediately took the club back to the First Division in 1987-88 before finishing runners-up to Liverpool in the 1989-90 season. Taylor took the England managers role in 1990 and held the post for three years, before returning to Watford and later Aston Villa in 2002-03.
