Champions League Round Three Preview

England’s teams in the Champion’s League go into this week’s games boosted by easy league victories. Eventmasters can provide official football hospitality for all Champions League home matches featuring Manchester United, Chelsea FC and Arsenal in 2015/16.

But all face difficult tasks. Chelsea FC travel deep into the Ukraine to take on Dynamo Kiev. The home team have four points in the group along with Porto, with Chelsea on three.

Chelsea, 16th in the table as they kicked off against Aston Villa on Saturday, continue to misfire after a terrible start to the season. But at least they got a victory which took them to 11th.

The returning Diego Costa played a key role, tapping in Willian’s pass midway through the first half after an atrocious kick-out by goalkeeper Brad Guzan and mis-control by defender Joleon Lescott gifted the ball to the Stamford Bridge side. The Blues doubled their lead when Villa’s Alan Hutton deflected in a Costa shot.

Star man for Kiev is Andriy Yarmolenko who signed a new five-year deal with the club last week despite interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton. Dynamo Kiev will go into the game determined to put right a 3-0 league beating from great rivals Shakhtar.

Arsenal have the massive task of taking on Bayern Munich who have become the first club to win their opening nine Bundesliga games after a 1-0 victory at Werder Bremen with Thomas Muller scoring his ninth league goal of the season after controlling Thiago’s pass and slotting home from close range.

It was a first goalless game for Robert Lewandowski in seven matches, having scored 15 in six for Bayern and Poland. But Arsenal are second in the league after beating Watford 3-0 away having previously thrashed Manchester United.

Walcott, Sanchez, Ramsey and Ozil are all playing well. It should be a fantastic match at the Emirates Stadium, champagne football to match the outstanding Arsenal hospitality packages.

Manchester United go to CSKA Moscow. Wayne Rooney added to first half goals from Morgan Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera to give the Red Devils a comprehensive 3-0 win at Everton.

Everyone is on three points in the group which includes PSV Eindhoven and Wolfsburg. United have lost their last three away games in the UEFA Champions League proper, although they did win 4-0 at Club Brugge in the play-offs.

Worryingly they have a poor record against Russian opposition. CSKA are six games unbeaten (W5 D1) since their match day one defeat.
