England v Wales - Old Mutual Wealth Cup

England change four as Argentina come to Twickenham

Eddie Jones has made four changes to his starting XV as England prepare to face Argentina in the third Old Mutual Wealth Autumn International at Twickenham on Saturday.

After a nine try demolition of Fiji last weekend, Jones was faced with some major selection headaches. But after 11 wins in 11 games in 2016, the England Head Coach has recalled Jonny May, Mike Brown, Tom Wood and George Kruis.

The return of Kruis is a major boost to England, the Saracens lock was injured during a European Cup fixture in October. But he has made a speedy recovery and takes the place of Joe Launchbury who faces two-weeks out with suspension.

Wood takes the place of Teimana Harrison, who drops to the bench, as England look to combat the power of the Argentinian pack which will be spearheaded by the outstanding Facundo Isa.

Rokoduguni misses out for England despite star showing at Twickenham against Fiji

Despite a man of the match performance at Twickenham last week, there is no place for winger Semesa Rokoduguni (a decision which has raised many eyebrows).

Instead Jones has kept the faith with Elliot Daly and Jonny May; while the ever-reliable Brown returns at full-back in place of Alex Goode.

On the selection of the side Jones said, “Selection was interesting this week but it shows how competitive and how much depth we are developing.

“We’ve had a strong week’s preparation and I’ve been really impressed by the players’ desire to get better. It is a strong and relentless team. All the credit for what the team has done so far this autumn deserves to go to the players.”

Argentina pose massive threat to England’s perfect record in 2016

Despite losing the last two-games against Wales and Scotland, England will be aware of the threat posed by The Pumas. In the past three-years they have been one of the most improved sides in world rugby – playing an expansive and powerful game.

Despite winning just one game in the Rugby Championships, Argentina continued to show the ability to cause issues to the world’s finest sides.

Jones is well-aware of their ability and knows his team need to improve performance, saying: “This game against Argentina is a big step up for us as they were probably the second best team in the Rugby Championship and played some exceptional rugby.

“They are a quality team, have power in the forwards, speed and guile in the backs as well as great experience. We appreciate they have threats across the field and they have always been a physical, tough side.”
