Eugenie Bouchard confirmed for Aegon Classic Birmingham

Eugenie Bouchard the current world number 6 has been confirmed to play at the Birmingham Classic June 15-21st. Bouchard is one of a number of tennis stars who will entertain Eventmasters guests enjoying the excellent Birmingham Classic hospitality facilities.
The Canadian star appeared at the WTA event in 2013 and returns in 2015 as part of her preparations for The Championships, Wimbledon. The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) have already confirmed that 10 of the top 20 players in the world will compete in Birmingham, including defending champion Ana Ivanovic. The announcement that Bouchard, the 2014 Wimbledon finalists will also play is another major coup for the event.
The Aegon Classic Birmingham, one the WTA Premier events on the world tour, will take place from 13-21 June 2015 and forms an integral part of the new British grass court season, which in 2015 will see a three week window between Roland Garros and Wimbledon for the very first time. The extended grass court season will enable some of the world’s best players extra time to find their feet on grass and make the most of the best grass-courts in the country.
Speaking after the announcement, Eugenie said “I love playing on grass and I’ve played some of my best tennis on this surface. I’m looking forward to coming back to Birmingham.”
