The Premier League returns this weekend after the European Championship qualifiers which is always a signal to expect a possible upset. Our official football hospitality packages are available for the 2015/16 Premier League season; including Manchester United hospitality, Liverpool FC hospitality, Chelsea hospitality and Tottenham Hotspur hospitality.
The Big Six of Manchester United, Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Arsenal will be worried about players returning fatigued and with knocks. It offers the so-called “lesser teams” an opportunity.
Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool FC
Of course the highlight this week has to be Spurs v Liverpool FC, Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge after taking over from the axed Brendan Rogers. His arrival and his excellent record as Borussia Dortmund manager has got the red half of Merseyside humming.
Confidence is already flowing through the squad. Klopp has outlined vision, set out his aims for the season and arrived with a smile on his face. He knows football has to be fun – it had become too dark and serious under Rogers.
Liverpool FC hospitality guests at Anfield will expect much of the German but he will demand much of himself.
The emphasis will be on the Reds’ identity on the pitch rather than winning trophies immediately. Klopp says he wants to “develop a recognisable brand of football”. The highly knowledgeable Liverpool crowd will rise to that. The pressing style will stay. It will be an attacking formula with players encouraged to express themselves, unafraid to take risks.
Of course Spurs, unbeaten in the last six Premier League games, have equally always had an attacking philosophy. Former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is bringing out the best in his team and seems to have got them leaner, fitter and hungrier.
Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are in fine form. Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool has all the makings of an end-to-end cracker. Our West Stand Box provides you with the ultimate Tottenham Hotspur hospitality experience.
Everton v Manchester United
Everton against Manchester United is also set to be thrill a minute.
For the Toffees, Romelu Lukaku is showing his class and Ross Barkley is emerging as the player everyone tipped for greatness. England manager Roy Hodgson hailed the Everton midfielder who excelled on international duty against Estonia and Lithuania. Barkley creates time for himself, always the sign of top quality.
Hodgson said: “We were so pleased to see him continue in fine form. I know that Everton are really happy with his performances.”
And Old Trafford chief executive Ed Woodward insists the Red Devils will continue to spend despite shelling out almost £250 million on players including Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin since the arrival of Louis van Gaal. With revenues expected to pass £500 million after United’s Champions League return the cheque book stays open, a daunting prospect for rivals.
Our Manchester United hospitality packages are now available for all games at Old Trafford in the 2015/16 season.
Can Chelsea get their act together despite their atrocious start to the season?
Even with a fallow week there was still woe for the Blues as enforcer Nemanja Matic’s season went from bad to worse, given his marching orders in Serbia’s 2-1 loss to Portugal. Branislav Ivanovic expects to be out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
But Chelsea will surely get the show back on the road as they welcome struggling Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge.
Villa are rooted in the bottom three and manager Tim Sherwood could be next to be relieved of his duties if he can’t turn things around fast. The whispers are already out there that he is fighting to keep his job. It would be harsh given how he saved them at the back end of last season and is just eight games in this time round.
Chelsea FC hospitality packages are on sale for all games at Stamford Bridge in the 2015/16 season.
