Hoping that Gambol will pay off

Gambol will make his debut in the Eventmasters Racing colours this evening in the 5:40 race at Towcester, the Bet Tote Jackpot Novices´ Hurdle (CLASS 4), where we are more than hopeful that the 5 year old will produce a strong performance. In the 6 runner field, he would appear to have the warm favourite 3’s on chance Lochalsh to beat.

If it were a flat race you would assume that Gambol would be made favourite to win, as he has a rating of 81 whereas Lochalsh has achieved a top rating of 66. In tonight’s hurdle race we believe that his superior flat rating, combined with the weight that he will receive from the favourite will see him go very close indeed. If you take into consideration the 5lb allowance that stable apprentice Rob McCarth can claim and the 2lb that Lochlash has to give Gambol (being a previous winner) then in theory he is 23lbs ‘well in’.

He has been working really well at home; Trainer Ian Williams seems to have found the key to the horse who would appear to have been somewhat complicated during his time with B W Hills in Lambourn. “He has schooled really well and we hope that he can translate what he has shown at home to the racecourse” Ian said “We are all looking forward to his run tonight”

Fingers crossed for a good run!
