Former Cheltenham Festival winners Sprinter Sacre and Bobs Worth will both be in action at Sandown on Saturday, where Eventmasters horse racing hospitality packages ambassador AP McCoy will be in action for the final time before retiring.
Sprinter Sacre who hasn’t won since returning from a year long absence in January is entered in the Bet365 AP McCoy Celebration Chase, and is set to be ridden by Cheltenham Gold Cup winning jockey Nico De Boinville. His future career on the track will be determined by his performance in the race, after two disappointing runs this season.
The champion jockey will call time on his glittering career as the National Hunt season draws to a close on Saturday, but is currently without a ride in the big race the Grade 3 Bet365 Gold Cup Chase. JP McManus doesn’t hold any entries in the race, so McCoy will be hot property for trainers.
Former Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Bobs Worth will take part in the event as he also looks to bounce back from a string of below par efforts. Nicky Henderson who trains Sprinter Sacre and Bobs Worth said “Sprinter and Bobs Worth are both going to be at Sandown. I am very happy with them, the ground will suit and I think we have to run.”
