Liverpool Football Club – Top Four Finish?

January – a make-or-break month for Liverpool Football Club; having secured a vital win against Sunderland on Saturday, and with the news that Daniel Sturridge has returned to training, a top 4 finish in the Premier League is now very much back on the radar. The Reds have two vital games against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup semi-final and will look to progress against Bolton in the FA Cup 4th round, which will see the return to Anfield of former Liverpool player Emile Heskey, before hosting West Ham United with the hope of continuing their League revival.

Brendon Rodgers will be fully focused on securing a trophy and a coveted Champions League place. The Capital One Cup would be great but so would winning the FA Cup with the Final being on Saturday May 30th, Steven Gerrard’s 35th birthday, a fitting farewell to Captain Fantastic as he heads off to LA Galaxy.

With Gerrard’s departure at the end of the season, will Vice-Captain Jordan Henderson step up and become a real leader both on and off the field? Who else do you think will be Liverpool’s captain? Former Southampton captain Lallana? Former PSG and France-U21 captain Sakho? Škrtel?

There have been good signs from the new players that came in over the summer; they are now beginning to settle in. Markovic is starting to show the form from last year when starring for Benfica. Emre Can has now solidified his position in the Starting XI playing at the right-side of a 3 man defence and finally Adam Lallana is scoring and setting up goals for his team mates, making him a firm favourite with The Kop.

So the question for you to ponder is…

With the team starting to find their form, can Liverpool secure a top 4 finish?
