Two-time Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova is the latest star to confirm her participation at the 2016 Aegon Classic Birmingham. This premier WTA event takes place at the Edgbaston Priory Club from Monday 13th – Sunday 19th June 2016.
Kvitova is one of the finest players of her generation and has claimed victory twice at the All England Club winning the women’s title in 2011 and 2014. Now she will be looking to add the prestigious Aegon Classic crown to her trophy cabinet on her way to Wimbledon 2016.
On her return to Birmingham Kvitova said: “I’m really looking forward to coming back to Birmingham for the first time since 2008!
“That’s a long time and I know that the tournament has grown so much and made a lot of improvements since then. It’s important for me to get the best possible preparation on grass this year so adding Birmingham to my schedule is the perfect opportunity.”

Kvitova will compete alongside some of the world’s biggest players with British No.1 Johanna Konta, former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki, World No.6 Simona Halep, Madison Keys, World No.10 Belinda Bencic, Lucie Safarova and Australian Open Champion Angelique Kerber set to feature.
