Mercurial fly half Danny Cipriani has been included in England’s 34 man RBS Six Nations squad. Calls for the Sale fly-half have been too loud for the England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster to ignore. He will join fellow fly halves George Ford, Owen Farrell & Stephen Myler in the squad fighting for the famous ten shirt ahead of the first 6N fixture against Wales at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
The “shock” inclusion in Lancaster’s squad is the return of 36 year old Nick Easter. The veteran Harlequins number eight picked up the last of his 47 caps in the 2011 World Cup. He has been in fine form in The Premiership but will he force his way back into the England match day 23?
Notable exclusions from the squad due to injury include Ben Morgan, Courtney Lawes, Joe Launchbury, Ben Foden and Manu Tuilagi.
Lancaster will also name an England Saxons squad to face the Irish Wolfhounds in Cork on Jan 30, with Bath’s Sam Burgess set to start at centre for his first taste of international rugby union following his switch from rugby league.
