Telescope Has Ascot in His Sights

Telescope has his sights set on Royal Ascot, after demolishing his rivals in Al Rayyan Stakes on Saturday. The Sir Michael Stoute five-year-old now looks set to take his place at horse racing’s most glamourous event and delight the guests enjoying the Royal Ascot hospitality packages.

Telescope has already tasted success at Royal Ascot, and will return to defend his Hardwicke Stakes title in June. He zoomed clear of the field at Newbury on Saturday and registered a six-length victory, completing the second leg of Ryan Moore’s incredible five-timer. After the roaring success Telescope was cut into 5/2 favourite to regain his Royal Ascot crown. After the race his trainer said “That was very smooth and very impressive. We’ll go to the Hardwicke Stakes next, then plan the second half. He’s a great traveller and has lots of options.”

Telescope will no doubt be one of the main attractions for Royal Ascot hospitality guests in 2015 and if he produces a similar performance to his Newbury romp, he will be very difficult to beat.
