Twickenham Hospitality Packages: After another eventful week in English Rugby we round up the latest news as Eddie Jones prepares to name his first EPS Squad in January ahead of the 2016 6 Nations. England face Ireland (Saturday 27th February) and Wales (Saturday 12th March) and you can see all the action in VIP style with our Six Nations Twickenham hospitality packages.
Jones has already been dealt an injury blow with the news that Exeter Chiefs centre Henry Slade will be out of rugby for at least four months after suffering a broken leg against Wasps. The 22-year-old is considered one of the brightest talents in the English game and many felt he would play a major role for England in the Six Nations.
Slade made his England debut during the 2015 QBE Internationals against France and produced an accomplished performance. He was selected for England’s World Cup squad but didn’t get on the pitch until the final game against Uruguay, by which time the hosts were already out of the tournament.
After a scintillating start to the season the Chiefs sit in second place in the Premiership table and have their sights set on a first appearance in the Grand Final in May. You can see the biggest game in English club rugby with our Aviva Premiership Final hospitality packages.
While Twickenham hospitality guests will be disappointed that Slade will be unable to line-up for his country in the Six Nations, they will be pleased to hear that wrecking ball centre Manu Tuilagi is edging closer to his return.
The 24-year-old is one of the world’s best centres when fit but he has been sidelined for the last 14 months with a groin injury. Earlier in the week Tuilagi signed a new three-year deal with the Leicester Tigers, which makes him one of the best paid players in the game.
Director of Rugby Richard Cockerill has confirmed that Tuilagi could return in January saying “The indications are good, January is not far away. I’d like to think he’ll be near playing in the next few weeks.”
Twickenham hospitality guests and Eddie Jones will be hoping to see Tuilagi return to his best in time for the Six Nations, so that he can produce some of his trademark runs and big tackles.
Tuilagi knows he has a battle on his hands to return to the 13 jersey for England after some impressive performances from the likes of Jonathan Joseph and Elliot Daly. Joseph was the top try scorer in the 2015 Six Nations and has finally started to fulfil the potential that all English fans knew he had.
Daly has been one of the form outside centres in Europe this season possessing devastating pace and the ability to knock penalties over from 50 plus metres. But Eddie Jones will be thrilled that there is such fierce competition for places, it shows the depth that exists in the game.
