United got through to this round of this historic competition thanks to a 1 – 0 win at the City Ground against fellow Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest. The game’s sole goal came from Brazilian midfielder Casemiro late on in the second half, with mere minutes remaining in normal time.
As for Liverpool, their young academy players put on a show in their 3 – 0 win against Southampton at Anfield. 18-year-old forward Lewis Koumas gave the Reds the lead late on in the first half (44’) before another teenage forward, Jayden Danns, scored a brace in the latter stages of the second half (73’, 88’) to seal a place in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup.
