The second day of the festival is one of the biggest events of the horse racing season – Darley Yorkshire Oaks/Ladies Day.

The winner of the highly prestigious Yorkshire Oaks for 2025 was the pre-race favourite Minnie Hauk, ridden to victory by Jockey Ryan Moore, with acclaimed trainer Aidan O’Brien sealing yet another victory in his incredible career. Daniel Tudhope’s Estrange was the runner-up on this occasion.

As we head towards the weekend, Friday at the Festival offers corporate hospitality guests to witness one of the season’s fastest and most exciting races – The Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes. This five-furlong race is a key part of the British Champions Series and often decides who the best sprinter in the country is; the image of the horses thundering down the home straight is a truly spectacular sight for the four-day festival.

This race was enthralling once more in 2025, with this hard fought race ending with Oisin Murphy emerging victorious in the end onboard a Henry Dwyer trained Asfoora, followed by Ain’t Nobody in second place, whilst it was Mickael Barzalona’s Frost At Dawn who rounded off the top three of this race in third place overall.

The York Ebor Festival’s final day features one of Europe’s biggest races – Sky Bet Ebor Day. The race has been a permanent fixture on the Knavesmire since the 1840s, and it continues to hold the title of Europe’s richest flat handicap race. The fantastic atmosphere around York Racecourse for the historic Ebor Day has to be experienced.

On the final day is, of course, the prestigious and historic Sky Bet Ebor Handicap, and in 2025 it was Ethical Diamond, the pre-race favourite, who was able to come out on top as the winner of the race with William Buick on board. Seamie Heffernan’s Ascending and Ryan Moore’s Queenstown came in second and third place in the end, respectively.

All eyes will now be on these races when they return to the iconic York Racecourse in 2026.
