2024 Cheltenham Festival Trials Day Preview

Cheltenham Festival Corporate Hospitality Packages

With the 2024 Cheltenham Festival just around the corner, this trials day offers some clues about who may do well in the main event which gets underway in March.

The Cheltenham Festival is amongst the most prestigious race meetings that the sport of horse racing has to offer. And, not only is it a fantastic four day event, it will once again be hosted at the iconic Cheltenham Racecourse, a venue that has been hosting horse racing events since it was established all the way back in 1815.

Before the Cheltenham Festival gets underway though, there is still one important race meeting to take place before the Festival begins in March. This race meeting is the Cheltenham Festival Trials Day, which is set to take place on Saturday 27th January 2024. The racing will get underway with the JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle Race at 12:40 on Saturday afternoon.

There will be 7 races taking place over the course of the day with proceedings coming to a close with the Novices’ Hurdle at 16:10.

Amongst these races, there are a couple of them that stand out amongst the rest. Such races are the Paddy Power Cotswold Chase and the Unibet Hurdle that take place back to back at 14:25 and 15:00 respectively on Saturday afternoon.

Back in the most recent running of the Cotswold Chase on 28th January 2023, jockey Derek Fox rode Ahoy Senior to victory. Fox was able to fend off competition from the likes of Sean Quinlan’s Sounds Russian and Sean Bowen’s Noble Yeats, who had to settle for a second and third place finish in this race respectively.

As for the most recent Unibet Hurdle, Constitution Hill was the most recent winner ahead of I Like To Move It and Jason The Militant in second and third place respectively.

Now let’s move on to the seven races set to take place over the course of the 2024 Cheltenham Trials Day starting with the JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle at 12:40.
