Cheltenham Race Card 2019 – Cheltenham Festival

A selection of early Ante Post odds and Cheltenham Festival 2019 Race Cards

Cheltenham Festival might be months away, but that doesn’t stop the early speculators looking at the potential starting line and the early odds.  Here’s our quick and early guide to the horses likely to run, and the odds the bookmakers have given to the favourites.

Champion Day – Cheltenham 2019 Champion Hurdle Ante Post Odds and Race Card

The Champion Hurdle features on the first day of Cheltenham Festival 2019 – Champion Day.  This is always a Tuesday, and is a favourite among racing fans – lots of high level races feature, with many popular horses.

Champion Hurdle is the most popular race of the day – the two-miler over hurdles has a home in fans hearts.

For the Champion Hurdle, at this early stage, bookmakers have picked out some favourites, but know that with months to go this could all change!  The early odds seem to favour Samcro and 2018’s winner Buveur d’Air, both horses currently are at 7/2.

Melon (9/1) and Laurina are (10/1) are the next favourites as far as the bookmakers are concerned with months for everything to change.

Ladies Day – Cheltenham Queen Mother Champion Chase 2019 Race Card and Ante Post Betting

Wednesday of Cheltenham Festival annually is Ladies Day – a day equally devoted to racing as it is to having a good time in the British countryside.

The feature race of Wednesday is the Queen Mother Champion Chase – one of the biggest races of the whole season.  The event attracts many big-name horses each year.

Eight-year-old Altior is favourite to win the event, as he did last year.  The Nicky Henderson-trained horse is 7/4 for the race, with Footpad being the bookmakers’ second-favourite at 4/1.

St Patrick’s Thursday – Cheltenham Stayers Hurdle 2019 Race Card and Ante Post Odds

The third day of the Cheltenham Festival is not to be missed.  Stayers Hurdle is the main event on the day, and is one of the longest races in the National Hunt calendar.  Set over three miles, the race suits horses with high endurance.

Faugheen is the bookmakers favourite at this early point, with odds in the region of 6/1.  Though, it’s likely to be a two horse race for race day favourite, as Penhill has similar hope with 7/1 odds circulating around.

Gold Cup Day – Cheltenham 2019 Gold Cup Ante Post Odds and Race Card

So far, the bookmakers’ favourites to win the Gold Cup in 2019 include Presenting Percy (at 6/1), Might Bite (13/2) and Native River (7/1).  These horses have all done exceptionally well over the past year.  Native River won the 2018 race with a Starting Price of 5/1, but loses favour in the eyes of bookmakers with these early ante post odds.

There’s so much time left, it’s anyone’s race still, but there are some clear favourites as far as bookmakers see things.  Close on the heels of these three are Sizing John at 16/1 and Footpad at 18/1.  Both horses have had good years, so it will be interesting to see how they do racing at Cheltenham Festival 2019.

Whichever day you attend Cheltenham 2019, there are some quality horses guaranteed to race, and they’ll be competing in some of the biggest races in the racing season.
