What a great start to Royal Ascot we saw yesterday, at the opening day of the 5 day celebrations. A fantastic entrance by the Queen and the royals who where brought into Ascot on a horse and carriage. The Queen wearing a stunning baby blue ensemble, which seemed to be the choice of colour for most ladies at Ascot yesterday.

The first race saw favourite and last year’s winner Accidental Agent left in the starting stall, allowing Lord Glitters to take 1st place at Ascot.

Back to back Champion jockey Silva De Sousa was given a 7 day ban and fined £1050 after using his whip above the permitted level on horse Beat The Bank, who came second in The Queen Anne race leaving peoples favourite Arizona to finish in 1st place. Still only a young horse Arizona is one to watch in the future after the brilliant win at Ascot.

What a replay from last year did we get from Blue Point and Battaash with both horses going head to head again at the final furlong, Blue Point taking 1st place. Battaash wasn’t looking strong at the beginning with the horse staying behind, but that changed heading into the final furlongs.

A fantastic start to Royal Ascot for jockey Ryan Moore who had a double win with Circus Maximus in The St James’s Palace Stakes and Arizona in the Kings Stand Stakes. Moore is set to ride the Queens horse Seniority in today’s Royal Hunt Cup.

The Grand Visir takes 1st place in The Ascot Stakes after a good run from Jukebox who lead the race until half way around the track. That was until The Grand Visir and Buildmeupbuttercup took the lead heading into the final stride, The Grand Visir taking 1st place leaving Buildmeupbuttercup in second place.

The final race of the day saw trainer William Haggas take home his 1st win at Royal Ascot 2019 with horse Addeybb. It became a one horse race at the final furlong when Addeybb took the lead being lengths in front of the pack.
