Queen’s Club

The Queen’s Club is a private members’ club located in West Kensington, London. The club is known for hosting the prestigious men’s tennis tournament, Queen’s Club Championships.

The club was founded in 1886 and was named after Queen Victoria, its first patron.  Catering for a variety of sports, the club was the second multipurpose sports complex after The Princes Club. With 28 outdoor courts and eight indoors, the club was able to offer facilities for real tennis, Eton fives, rackets, lawn tennis, football, rugby and athletics.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) owned the Queen’s Club from 1953 – 2006. The club was sold for £35 million and the LTA relocated to the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

The Queen’s Club Championships (also known as the Fever-tree Championships) remains one of the most prestigious grass tennis tournaments in the world.
