Scotland v Italy Hospitality Packages – Guinness Six Nations 2025
Gregor Townsend’s Scotland are set to welcome Italy to the BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh for this 2025 Guinness Six Nations fixture. This match between these two nations is set to get underway at 14:15pm on the afternoon of Saturday, 1st February 2025.
Current Scotland Head Coach Townsend has been in charge of the Scottish national team since his appointment back in May 2017, when he succeeded Vern Cotter who had been in charge for three years since he himself took over in 2014.
Scotland have never won the Six Nations, and their best performance in this Championship has come in 2001, 2006, 2013, 2018 and in 2023 where they finished in third place on each occasion. They have however won the Five Nations, the previous iteration of this Championship, and they did so – outright – on 5 occasions (1925, 1929, 1984, 1990, 1999), whilst sharing the title a further 6 times (1920, 1926, 1927, 1964, 1973 and 1986).
Moving on to Italy, they have also never won the Six Nations Championship. Gonzalo Quesada actually led Italy to their best ever Guinness Six Nations finish in the most recent iteration of this competition in 2024, where they were able to finish in 5th place with 11 points to their name after all five matches had been played.
As of the time of writing, both of these nations occupy places amongst the top ten ranked teams in the entire world of international rugby. Starting with Italy, they have risen to 8th place with a total of 79.41 points following their performance in the most recent Six Nations, whilst Scotland are sat two places higher in 6th with 82.82 points overall.
The most recent Six Nations game between these two teams was played at Murrayfield on Saturday 18th March 2024 in what was Round Five of the Championship. In the end, it was a 26 – 14 victory of Gregor Townsend’s side, where Duhan van der Merwe (12’) and Blair Kinghorn (29’, 43’, 80’) got the tries, whilst Kinghorn also got all three conversions for Scotland that day (30’, 45’, 81’). Tomaso Allan got Italy’s only try (61’), and he also got two of their penalties (7’, 15’) with Paolo Garbisi getting the other one (65’).
Overall, Scotland and Italy have played against each other in the all competitions on 37 occasions, with Scotland having 28 wins so far compared to 9 for Italy. These two international teams have never drawn against each other.
This fixture is set to be enthralling as both sides look to improve on their finish in the 2024 Six Nations Championship and make further progress up the table when they face each other at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. No Scotland fan will want to miss an occasion like this!
