Our Story So Far
Eventmasters was proud to support Scotty’s Little Soldiers, most recently at our Annual Midland’s Sportsmans Luncheon. A phenomenal event where VIP guests and British rugby icons meet to raise money for charity whilst enjoying a beautifully prepared meal.
The 2019 Luncheon saw a grand total of three thousand pounds raised and presented to Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Through generous donations and a silent auction on the day, more funds can be raised each year to support notable charities.
Founder Nikki Scott said:
Eventmasters and its sister company Silent Auction Events have supported our charity fundraising events numerous times and each time I have found them to be professional, friendly and well organised.
We were able to work with Eventmasters to choose auction lots with our audience in mind and were provided with a variety of silent auction items to suit all budgets.
Eventmasters have now stepped up to the plate and are a Scotty’s Business Hero and Corporate Partner to Scotty’s.
What Else Have We Done?
Aside from the Luncheon, Eventmasters have supported Scotty’s Little Soldiers as official sponsors for their Grand Fundraising Ball, which has always proven to be a wonderful success in helping to raise valuable funds for the children of fallen heroes.
Every year, more funds are raised through efforts such as silent auctions. 2019 marked our third successive year at this remarkable event, which offers a relaxed and enjoyable evening of entertainment as well as a delicious three-course meal.
Eventmasters CEO, Denise Sheasby took delight in assisting magician, and Britain’s Got Talent winner Lance Corporal Richard Jones in one of his magic productions at Scotty’s Grand Ball!
Denise said:
I have attended countless events over very many years, but being the magician’s assistant was a first for me; the whole evening was really enjoyable. Thanks to all involved at Scotty’s and to Gary Smith at Mercantile Claims for the kind invitation.
Richard was really good, I would highly recommend him to our clients and we hope to work with him directly in the future – I am still trying to work out how he did it.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers: What They Do
Founded in 2010, Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting children whose parents have passed away whilst serving in the armed forces.
Mrs Nikki Scott founded the charity in 2010, after her husband Corporal Lee Scott (also known as Scotty) was killed in Afghanistan while on active service in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment.
The work of Scotty’s Little Soldiers involves aiding children and young people who have lost a parent who served in the regular or reserve army, navy or air force. This includes those that passed whilst on active service, through accidents, illnesses and those medically discharged before their death.
Their programmes of support are called ‘smiles’, ‘support’ and ‘strides’. Smiles focuses on offering outing and gifts, support helps with familial counselling and support whilst strides offers grants and assistance for education and personal development.
Eventmasters is delighted to be involved with Scotty’s Business Heroes arm. An initiative established by the charity which allows businesses and organisations to give back and make a difference to those who have lost a parent whilst fighting for their country.
Scotty’s Business Heroes is an opportunity aimed at companies of all sizes. It gives businesses the chance to support the charity in a number of ways and allows them to become part of an exclusive club. Enabling the companies to participate in networking, events, fundraising challenges and social media activity, all whilst working very closely with the charity.
Denise Sheasby of Eventmasters commented:
“To join Scotty’s Business Heroes is something we’re very proud of. Eventmasters wants to donate to worthwhile causes. Being a part of recent charity balls has shown us just how special Scotty’s is and how much it means to the families which it supports. It’s a natural progression for us as we introduce our charitable foundation. We want to help Scotty’s Little Soldiers in any way we can.”
Whilst founder Mrs Scott said:
“We are enormously grateful for the support of Eventmasters. We’ve known them for a few years now and it’s clear that they care about us as a charity. It’s always great to see their additions to our silent auction, which is very generous of them. I’m pleased they’ve become a Scotty’s Business Hero this year and we’re hoping this helps inspire others to do the same. Our mission is to put smiles back on the faces of those who have lost a parent in the Armed Forces and with the support of companies such as Eventmasters we can continue to give our members the support they need.”
Eventmasters is proud to be associated with and supporting the admirable work of Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Through providing items to auction at Scotty’s Little Soldiers’ annual ball, we strive to raise money for this great cause.
If your own organisation is looking to raise funds, or are in need of auction prizes or assistance in running a silent auction, please don’t hesitate to contact Eventmasters on 0121 233 6500 to discuss it with us.
