Chester Races 2026

Chester Racecourse generally hosts a series of annual events, including:

• Boodles May Festival: A three-day event typically held in early May, featuring prestigious races such as the Chester Cup, Chester Vase, Cheshire Oaks, Dee Stakes, and Ormonde Stakes.

• Midsummer Meeting: Usually scheduled for late July, this meeting includes a variety of races and is often partnered with sponsors like John Smith’s.

• Summer Saturday: Typically held in late June, this event features a full day of racing and is part of Chester’s summer racing calendar.

• Family Fun Day: Usually taking place in early August, this family-friendly event includes racing alongside entertainment for children and families.

• Autumn Festival: Generally held in mid-September, this two-day festival concludes Chester’s main racing season.

Chester Racecourse hospitality facilities are excellent and include the popular Silks Restaurant, which is an established favourite for the Chester May Festival. Silks is located in the Trackside Pavilion and boasts a private garden area along the running rails with excellent views of the final furlong.
