Boxing fans across the globe would be delighted if the much-rumoured heavyweight fight between Great Britain’s Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, which looks like it may be taking place at some point in 2025. Joshua has recently made public his desire to take on Fury in what would be a bout that would bring with it plenty of anticipation and media attention.

Anthony Joshua rose to stardom following his Super Heavyweight Gold Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and he has since gone on to hold the unified world heavyweight championship twice, doing so in both 2016 and 2021. As for Tyson Fury, he is of course another prolific and highly successful boxer.

Fury is a multi-time world heavyweight Championship Winner, and this also includes two unified titles from 2015 and 2016. He has also held the World Boxing Council (WBC) titles in both 2020 and most recently in 2024.

Anthony Joshua has 28 wins in his career to date, with the most recent victory seeing him defeat Francis Ngannou via knockout at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 8th March 2024. It was a dominant performance from Joshua, who confirmed his thoroughly deserved win in just the second round.

As for Tyson Fury, the most recent fight that saw him emerge victorious took place on 28th October 2023, also at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, in a battle that also saw him face Ngannou. Fury’s win was decided in the end by a split decision.

If this fight were to happen, it would be the first time that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will have ever faced each other throughout their respective illustrious careers. This would be one of Boxing’s most anticipated fights of the calendar year.
