Chris Eubank Jr vs. Conor Benn Hospitality Package
The eyes of boxing fans across the country and the world will be on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when long standing rivals Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn finally go head to head in a much anticipated battle that is set to take place in North London on Saturday 26th April 2025. The excitement and anticipation are only going to increase as this fight edges closer and closer.
The intense rivalry that exists between Eubank Jr and Benn has its roots in the fierce fights competed between their fathers, Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn back in the 1990s, where they fought each other on two occasions.
Nicknamed the ‘Dark Destroyer’ (Nigel Benn) and ‘Simply the Best’ (Chris Eubank), these two first fought back in 1990, and it was a battle for the WBO middleweight title. It was a well contested fight, and the ninth round was very intense – it was a rollercoaster until Eubank dealt the deciding blow to win the fight by Technical Knockout (TKO). The fight was noted for how brutal, fierce, and dramatic it was.
We have to fast forward to 1993 for the second fight to be contested between Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr. Held at Old Trafford in Manchester, it was billed as ‘Judgement Day’, and the winner would have their hands on both the WBC and WBO Super Middleweight Championship belts. Benn was in possession of the WBC Belt, whilst Eubank had the WBO Belt.
In the end, and following a well fought fight, the final scores were 115 – 113 Eubank, 114 – 113 Benn, and 114 – 114. As a result, it was declared as a draw, so as a result, Nigel Benn kept hold of his WBC Super Middleweight Championship Belt, whilst Chris Eubank was able to keep hold of his WBO Super Middleweight Championship Belt.
This is the basis of the rivalry that exists between their sons, Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn, but the fire was stoked further in 2022. That year, the two were scheduled to finally go head to head in a fight, but as a result of Benn failing a drug test, this led to the cancellation of the fight.
Whilst Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn have never fought against each other in the ring until they do so later on this year at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This rivalry is strongly felt, and there was also a moment on 12th October 2024 between the two fighters following Eubank’s fight against Kamil Szeremeta, where he and Benn clashed.
This battle against Szeremeta was Eubank Jr’s most recent fight, and it took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was for possession of the then vacant IBO Middleweight title, and following a thrilling fight, it ended in Round 7 when Eubank Jr was able to get the better of his Polish opponent by winning this fight by knockout.
As for Conor Benn, his most recent fight was against Peter Dobson at the Chelsea Ballroom in Paradise, Nevada in the United States back on 3rd February 2024. Benn won it via unanimous decision by the judges after this enthralling battle had lasted all the way to the 12th and final round.
Overall, Conor Benn has competed in 23 professional fights, and he is so far undefeated after having won all of them to date. An extraordinary 14 of them have been by knockout, whilst 9 of these wins have come thanks to a unanimous decision by the judges.
As for Chris Eubank Jr, he has competed in 37 fights so far in his professional boxing career, and to date, he has 34 wins and 3 losses to his name. 25 of his wins have been via knockout, whilst 9 of his wins have come as a unanimous decision by the judges.
