Björn Again at Henley Festival
Björn Again, the widely popular Australian band that pays tribute to ABBA through their shows, is a light-hearted satirical spoof of the iconic Swedish band. Formed in Melbourne in 1988, they will be performing on the famous Floating Stage at the latest iteration of the iconic annual Henley Festival in July 2026. A capacity crowd is set to attend and enjoy what promises to be an outstanding performance.
The performance by Björn Again at the Henley Festival this year will take place on Friday, 10th July 2026, with the show set to get underway at 10:30pm.
Each band member has a satirical stage name in tribute to the members of ABBA – Agnetha Falstart (Agnetha Fältskog), Benny Anderwear (Benny Andersson), Frida Longstokin (Anni-Frid Lyngstad), and finally Björn Volvo-us (Björn Ulvaeus).
Additional band members do take to the stage from time to time, and they also have satirical names in tribute to ABBA. They are Rutger Sonofagunn (Rutger Gunnarsson) and Ola Drumkitt (Ola Brunkert).
The band also uses a mix of English and Swedish, which is known as ‘Swenglish’.
They have also received a positive acknowledgement from ABBA vocalist Agnetha Fältskog back in 2007 at the band’s 20th anniversary party, where Björn Again themselves performed, saying: “It was a great show. I loved the choreography, it was very true to life.”
Over the course of more than 30 years, Björn Again has performed more than 5,000 times in 73 countries and achieved worldwide cult status as a result.
In their shows, Björn Again have performed many of ABBA’s greatest hits from over the years, including ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Waterloo’, ‘Super Trouper’, ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)’, ‘Take A Chance On Me’, ‘Fernando’, ‘Does Your Mother Know’, ‘Money, Money, Money’, ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’, ‘Honey, Honey’, ‘SOS’, ‘Ring Ring’, and ‘Voulez-Vous’.
The band has recorded or performed over 130 songs, including 55 ABBA songs, 5 original songs, and many covers of other bands. They have also covered ‘Stop!’, ‘A Little Respect’ and other tracks by Erasure in the style of ABBA. They released them on an EP named ‘Erasure-ish’. ‘Stop!’ and ‘A Little Respect’ reached number 25 in the UK Singles Chart in September 1992.
Not only have Björn Again staged private performances for celebrities like Bill Gates, Rowan Atkinson, and Russell Crowe, but they have also performed in front of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the Royal Family at the Buckingham Palace Christmas Party in London back in 2012.
They have also been the opening act on the famous Pyramid Stage at the iconic annual Glastonbury Festival on no fewer than three occasions, in 1999, 2009, and most recently in 2019.
