The popular British Jazz band the Ezra Collective has been growing in popularity since forming in 2012. They are set to take the 2026 iteration of the annual and iconic Henley Festival by storm.
The band will perform some of their greatest and most memorable hits to date on what promises to be a very enjoyable evening for you and your guests/clients.
The Ezra Collective will perform at this prestigious music event on the opening day of the latest Henley Festival, Wednesday, 8th July 2026.
Current members of the quintet are drummer and band leader Femi Koleoso, bassist TJ Koleoso, keyboardist Joe Armon-Jones, trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi, and, finally, their tenor saxophonist James Mollison.
2019 saw the band release their instrumental single named ‘Quest for Coin’, which was premiered by Annie Mac’s Radio Show on BBC Radio 1 as the ‘Hottest Record in the World’. Later in that year, they released their debut album ‘You Can’t Steal My Joy’.
This was soon followed by their second album, ‘Where I’m Meant To Be’ in 2022, which received a positive critical reception. Then, a year later, on 3rd March 2023, it was confirmed that Ezra Collective would be taking to the stage at that year’s iteration of the legendary Glastonbury Festival, and they did so again at the most recent festival at Glastonbury back in 2025.
On 7th September 2023, the Ezra Collective made history as the first jazz act to ever win the prestigious Mercury Prize in its 31-year history for their album ‘Where I’m Meant To Be’. This was an incredible feat.
Whilst ‘You Can’t Steal My Joy’ and ‘Where I’m Meant To Be’ peaked at 70th and 24th in the UK album chart respectively, their third and most recent studio album, ‘Dance, No One’s Watching’, peaked as high as number 7 in the UK albums chart.
‘Dance, No One’s Watching’ was released back on 27th September 2024. It features tracks like ‘Ajala’, ‘The Traveller’, ‘No One’s Watching Me (Feat. Olivia Dean)’, ‘Hear My Cry’, ‘Shaking Body’, and ‘Expensive’. The standout song on this album is undoubtedly ‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing (Feat. Yazmin Lacey)’.
‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing’ peaked at 43 in the UK charts, and was named by former United States President Barack Obama as part of his 25 favourite tracks from the calendar year of 2024. The song was also featured in the popular football video game ‘EA Sports FC25’ that same year.
In January 2025, Ezra Collective were revealed to have been runners-up in the BBC’s poll for the ‘Sound of 2025’.
