Pearl Jam Hospitality Tickets – Dark Matter World Tour, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
Pearl Jam, one of the most iconic American Rock Bands, is set to head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for one night of incredible music as part of their Dark Matter World Tour. The band is set to take to the stage in North London on Saturday, 29th June 2024.
This is the first time they have performed at a music venue in London since they did so at the O2 Arena in the English Capital in 2018. Pearl Jam also performed at Hyde Park in 2022.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the only UK venue to host a performance as part of the band’s 41 date tour.
There are, of course, five members of this Pearl Jam: Eddie Vedder (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Jeff Ament (Bass Guitarist), Stone Gossard (Rhythm Guitarist), Mike McGready (Lead Guitarist) and Matt Cameron (Drummer). Vedder, Ament, Gossard and McCready have all been with this band since its founding more than 30 years ago. As for Matt Cameron, he has been with this band since 1998.
Fans of this famous band are widely known as the ‘Ten Club’, with the target audience for this group of fans being 30 to 60 year olds.
The history of this band stretches back to its formation in 1990. They were founded in Seattle, Washington, USA and quickly shot to prominence following the release of their debut album ‘Ten’, with one particular song from this album, ‘Black’ being one of their most well-known hits.
Then, by the end of 1992, ‘Ten’ had reached number two on the Billboard Charts and was certified gold. Other big hits from this album besides ‘Black’ were ‘Alive’, ‘Even Flow’ and ‘Jeremy’. ‘Jeremy’ is a particularly poignant track that focuses on a true and tragic story involving a school student of the same name. The album itself, ‘Ten’ remained on the Billboard charts for almost five years.
‘Even Flow’, in particular, is iconic for all fans of this band. It peaked at number 3 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart and was included in their greatest hits album in 2004. It was then remixed when ‘Ten’ was reissued in 2009. The song was also on Rolling Stone’s list of the Top 100 Greatest Rock Songs at 77. It was also featured in VH1’s 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs at number 30.
They have gone on to sell more than 85 million albums worldwide over the more than three decades of existence to date. Their albums have been in the UK Top 10s 11 times, with 11 weeks spent there between them.
On Spotify, most of the band’s listeners are based in the United States, and as of the time of writing their tracks have no less than 12.8 million listens. They are also highly prominent across various social media platforms, with 3.2 million followers on Instagram, 3.4 million followers on X, 10 million followers on Facebook and no less than 2.12 million subscribers on YouTube.
One last interesting fact about this band is that they are well-known for their activism. In 2011, they were recognised as ‘Planet Defenders’ by ‘Rock The Earth’, a not-for-profit environmental organisation that helps protect the environment in the United States.
Pearl Jam are not the only artists to be performing on the night. The band will be supported by Richard Ashcroft and The Murder Capital.
Ashcroft is an English musician who was the lead singer and sometimes the rhythm guitarist for The Verve, an alternative rock band who formed in 1990 before they split for the first time in 1999. He wrote a number of songs for the band, including ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’, ‘Lucky Man’ and ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’, which became a UK number one single.
He has since become a very successful solo artist, and has three UK top three solo albums to his name.
Fast forward to May 2016, when he released his fourth solo album, These People.
Ashcroft had the honour of being given the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music in May 2019. Then, in 2021, he released the album Natural Rebel that contained acoustic versions of some of his most renowned work.
As for ‘The Murder Capital’, they are an Irish rock and post punk band that were formed in Dublin back in 2018. Their debut album, released on 16th August 2019, was an immediate success, with ‘When I Have Fears’ receiving widespread praise.
That first album went to number 2 in the Irish charts and 18th in the UK Charts. Gigi’s Recovery, their most recent album from January 2023 reached number 1 in Ireland, whilst it featured at number 16 in the UK.
They also performed live at the 22nd Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California back in April 2023.
