They have been performing some of the Beatles’ greatest hits around the world ever since this tribute band was formed 46 years ago in 1980. They will be performing on the famous Floating Stage at what is the latest iteration of the iconic annual Henley Festival over five days in July 2026. The band will be performing at the Henley Festival this year on the evening of Sunday 12th July 2026, with the concert set to get underway promptly at 9pm.
Andre Barreau, Neil Harrison, and David Catlin-Birch were the founding members of the Bootleg Beatles. The line-up has gone through changes over the years, with the current members of the British band including Paul Canning (John Lennon) , Miles Frizzell (Paul McCartney), Stephen Hill (George Harrison), and finally Gordon Elsmore (Ringo Starr).
Their first performances were more low profile gigs, including one that was at a small student gathering in Tiverton, England. They then went on to complete a 60 date tour of the Soviet Union that was followed by further tours in Israel (1982 and 1986), in the Far East, and in India.
The Bootleg Beatles were invited to perform in the United States back in February 1984 in order to help commemorate the first tour of the US that The Beatles did 20 years before.
The band has also met The Beatles on more than one occasion. The first time was at David Gilmour’s 50th Birthday party back in 1996. The Bootleg Beatles performed together with an Australian Pink Floyd tribute band. The Bootleg Beatles then met The Beatles yet again at the 2002 Party at the Palace on the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

In the past, The Bootleg Beatles have supported Oasis, which was at both Earls Court and the Knebworth Festival back in November 1995 and August 1996, respectively. They had caught the attention of Oasis following a gig in Southampton.
Fast forward to 2010, and they were a headline act for the very first time at the legendary Glastonbury Festival, which saw them perform on the famous Acoustic Stage. They subsequently returned to perform on the Acoustic Stage at this iconic festival in 2013, 2023, and again in 2024.
