From 1999 onwards Emirates Riverside have hosted several international games. It’s big stage was the host of three 2019 World Cup games one being the final, which saw England win on home soil.
The historic city of Durham is where the Emirates Riverside Stadium is situated, and just like the city the stadium has history also.
The Stadium was under renovations in the years 1990-1995, developments being continued since. Finally the first domestic game was held at the ground in May 1995, which saw Durham v Warwickshire take the stage.
In 2010 it was announced that the Riverside Stadium would be renamed Emirates Riverside Stadium, due to a sponsorship deal between Emirates and the cricket club. The sponsorship being a continuing deal between the two companies.
Not only does Emirates Riverside host Cricket events, but they also have music performance from the likes of Pete Tong and Tears For Fears.
Tribute evenings are also held at the stadium. Queen tributes have been preformed by the West End cast of ‘We Will Rock You’. Making it a spectacular night for your entertainment.
