England v Pakistan Hospitality – Vitality IT20 2024 – KIA Oval Packages
England and Pakistan have played against each other a number of times since they first met in 1954, and they will meet once more in the fourth and final IT20 at the KIA Oval on Thursday 30th May 2024.
The first time that these two countries met was in a Test match series that took place almost 70 years ago. It was a Test Series that ended in a 1-1 draw after all four Tests had been played.
England are currently the IT20 World Champions, and it was against Pakistan that the Three Lions won their second IT20 title in the Final back on 13th November 2022. It was a tightly contested match, but England secured victory by a margin of five wickets with six balls remaining. Their first success in this competition occurred in 2010 when they were victorious against Australia.
As a result of their 2022 win, England became the first international men’s team in history to hold both the ODI (50-over) and T20 World Cup titles simultaneously.
Form against Pakistan in IT20 has been great in recent times. 2022 was their most recent encounter, but in 2021, England were again victors in the IT20 series that took place that year. Pakistan did win the first T20 by 31 runs, but England did go on to win this particular IT20 series 2 – 1 after winning the second and third IT20s by a margin of 45 runs and 3 wickets respectively.
England’s IT20 (White Ball) Captain is Jos Buttler, who took over from Eoin Morgan on 30th June 2022. Buttler also holds the record for the most runs in IT20, with 2,713 from 1,883 balls from 2011 to 2023. Eoin Morgan is just behind him with 2,458 runs from 1,805 England IT20 matches.
