Then came England’s first IT20 victory against South Africa in Johannesburg on 13th November 2009 – it was a historic result, not only because it was the inaugural one for England, but also because it was by a margin of just one wicket in the end.

The most recent victory in IT20 against South Africa for England was back on 27th July 2022, beating their opponents by 41 runs. South Africa won the most recent encounter on 21st June 2024, where they won by 7 runs overall.

Overall, England and South Africa have faced each other a total of 26 times, and it is the latter with a slightly superior record of 13 wins compared with England’s 12 so far.
