Arsenal are set to welcome newly promoted Ipswich Town to the Emirates Stadium in the league for the first time ever in the 2024/25 Premier League season. Mikel Arteta’s team will be seeking a first top flight title since their invincibles season this term, and a win here would enhance their chances of finishing the campaign at the summit.

As for Ipswich, they achieved the amazing feat of back-to-back promotions when they finished the 2023/24 EFL Championship season with 96 points, landing them automatic promotion to the Premier League with a second-place finish. The Tractor Boys ended up finishing behind Champions Leicester City by a margin of just two points in the end.

This will be their first Premier League campaign since the 2001/02 campaign, which saw them finish in 18th place with a total of 36 points from 38 matches and just 4 points from safety. They will now be looking to re-establish themselves in the English top flight this term.

Mikel Arteta has the Premier League title firmly in his sights and will look to realise his ambitions of winning it with Arsenal in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign. Since he took over, he led the Gunners to their record 14th FA Cup win back in the 2019/20 season, beating London rivals Chelsea 2 – 1. They have also won two FA Community Shields under the Spaniard.

As for Ipswich, it was their Head Coach, Keiran McKenna, who led them to two promotions in as many seasons since he was appointed to succeed Paul Cook back on 16th December 2021. Following an 11thplace finish in League One in the 2021/22 season, McKenna led the club to promotion after finishing second in the third tier in the 2022/23 campaign. This was, of course, followed up with another 2nd place finish, this time in the Championship, which sealed their long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Arsenal and Ipswich Town have met in a competitive fixture on 59 occasions to date. It is the Gunners who have the superior record of 30 wins compared to the Tractor Boys’ total of 18 so far. There have been 11 draws between them as of the time of writing.
