Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea will be taking on Brentford, led by Head Coach Keith Andrews at the iconic and historic Stamford Bridge that is located in the heart of West London during the 2025/26 Premier League season.

A victory here against the Bees for the Blues in the English Capital would see them take what would be a crucial step closer to realising their ambition to secure themselves some UEFA Champions League Football for the second season in succession.

Current Blues Head Coach Liam Rosenior was officially appointed on Tuesday 6th January 2026, succeeding Enzo Maresca in the Stamford Bridge dugout. He has signed a contract that is set to expire in 2032.

Rosenior had a playing career that spanned a grand total of 16 years, playing for a number of clubs, including Fulham (2003 – 2007), Reading (2007 – 2010), Hull City (2010 – 2015), and Brighton (2015 – 2018).

As for his managerial career, this began at Derby County where he was interim Head Coach for three months between June and September 2022. He held this position following the departure of Wayne Rooney, and just prior to the permanent appointment of Paul Warne.

Rosenior’s first permanent role as Head Coach came with Hull City back in November 2022, going on to finish in 15th place with a total of 58 points to their name after 46 games after having previously been in deep relegation trouble.

Then, despite signing a new three year contract in December 2023 and finishing just outside of the play-offs with a what was a very respectable finish in 7th place with 70 points, he was dismissed by the Tigers.

Liam Rosenior had impressed whilst managing Hull, earning him a position as Head Coach of French Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg in July 2024, just months after his departure from his previous club. The 2024/25 campaign, which was his first season at the club, he managed to lead them to a tremendous 7th place finish with 57 points, securing UEFA Conference League football for the following season – they only lost out on UEFA Europa League football on goal difference alone.

Rosenior now looks for further success with his latest club Chelsea.

Moving on to Brentford, their Irish Head Coach Keith Andrews has been in charge of the clubs since his appointment back on Friday 27th June 2025 where he replaced his Danish predecessor Thomas Frank who had recently left for their fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Last season saw Frank take charge for what was his final full campaign in charge, with the team in European qualification contention for much of the season, only to miss out thanks to a 10th-place finish after accumulating a total of 56 points. They ended up with a 9 point gap between themselves and the top seven.

The most recent competitive game in all competitions to have been played at Stamford Bridge between these two teams was in the Premier League back on Sunday 15th December 2024 when Chelsea won 2 – 1 thanks to goals from the likes of Marc Cucurella (43’) and Nicolas Jackson (80’), whilst it was Bryan Mbeumo who scored the only goal for Brentford late on in proceedings in the second half that day (90’).

Overall, Chelsea and Brentford have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 24 occasions, and it is the Blues who do have the superior record of no less than 11 victories in this fixture compared with the Bees’ total of 7 overall against their West London counterparts.
