Fulham v Southampton
FA Cup Fifth Round
Fixture Date – Saturday 07 March 2026
Kick-off – 3pm
Craven Cottage, London
Marco Silva’s Fulham are going to be welcoming Championship side Southampton, led by Head Coach Tonda Eckert, to Craven Cottage in the Fifth Round of the 2025/26 FA Cup in the heart of West London in March 2026. Silva’s side will be looking to take a step closer to Wembley with victory against the Saints.
The Cottagers are currently on track to make history in this season’s competition, as if they did go on to lift the FA Cup this term, it would be the first time they had done so in their history, and the last time that the club made the final was back in the 1974/75 season.
There is no better way to see Fulham in action against Southampton in what promises to be an enthralling fifth-round tie in the 2025/26 FA Cup than with an Eventmasters VIP Hospitality

Fulham, who are currently led by their Portuguese Head Coach Marco Silva, are to come face to face with Tonda Eckert’s Southampton, who play their football in the Championship, the English Second Tier, in the Fifth Round of the 2025/26 FA Cup. The Cottagers will be hoping to be victorious at Craven Cottage as they look to take a step closer to making history by reaching the Final of this competition at Wembley for just the second time in May 2026 with victory here against the Saints.
As of the time of writing, Fulham have never lifted the FA Cup in their history, and have reached the Final of the FA Cup on one previous occasion, doing so all the way back in the 1974/75 season. In that season’s final at Wembley, the West London outfit lost 2 – 0 to West Ham following two goals from Alan Taylor in the second half (60’, 64’). Winning the FA Cup this season would be a historic moment for Fulham.
Fulham began this season’s competition at the Third Round stage, with all Premier League clubs entering the FA Cup at this point in the tournament. The first opponent for Marco Silva’s side was Championship promotion-chasing Middlesbrough at Craven Cottage, winning 3 – 1 thanks to the goals of Harry Wilson (60’), Emile Smith-Rowe (77’), and Kevin (90+3’). This was after midfielder Hayden Hackney had given Kim Hellberg’s Boro the initial lead midway through the second half (30’).
Then came the Fourth Round, Fulham’s most recent game in this season’s competition. It was against another Championship outfit, this time in the form of Mark Robins’ Stoke City, away from home at the Bet365 Stadium. It was a 2 – 1 triumph for Silva’s side, winning through some goals from the likes of Kevin (55’) and Harrison Reed (84’), who got the late winner after the hosts took the lead early in the first half through Bae Jun-ho (19’). Beating the Potters secured Fulham’s fifth-round tie with Southampton in March.
Moving on to the Saints, Southampton have won the FA Cup just once in their history, doing so all the way back in the 1975/76 season. Their run to the Final saw them get the better of the likes of Aston Villa (2 – 1, Replay), Blackpool (3 – 1), West Brom (4 – 0, Replay), Bradford City (1 – 0), and Crystal Palace (2 – 0).
This was before they faced Manchester United in the Final at Wembley. Southampton won the tie 1 – 0 thanks to a late goal in the second half from Bobby Stokes (83’). The Saints have made the FA Cup Final on three other occasions, which were in the 1899/00, 1901/02, and 2002/03 seasons, where they lost to Bury (4 – 0), Sheffield United (2 – 1, Replay), and Arsenal (1 – 0), respectively.
As a Championship club, Southampton began their 2025/26 FA Cup campaign in the Third Round, where they came up against League One side Doncaster Rovers away from home at the Eco-Power Stadium. They were able to win 3 – 2 in a tight game that saw the visitors score through the likes of Cam Bragg (8’), Cameron Archer (24’), and Kuryu Matsuki (41’). Meanwhile, hosts Donny managed to score through Matty Pearson (48’) and Jordan Gibson (59’).
Then, in the Fourth Round, the South Coast outfit came up against fellow Championship outfit Leicester City at St. Mary’s Stadium, winning 2 – 1 through goals from Cyle Larin (45+1, Penalty) and James Bree in extra time (109’). Oliver Skipp scored the only goal for the Foxes on that day (52’). This secured Southampton their Fifth Round tie in the FA Cup against Fulham.
The last time that Fulham and Southampton met in the FA Cup was at Craven Cottage back on 6th January 2018. It was a third-round tie that Southampton won 1 – 0 following a winning goal from James Ward-Prowse midway through the second half (29’).
All eyes will be on who will be victorious in this Fifth Round tie in the 2025/26 FA Cup at the aforementioned Craven Cottage, with the Cottagers looking to win some silverware this season.
