Hospitality guests are not permitted to wear ripped denim or tracksuits. In addition to this, please be aware that if you are arriving at The Beautiful Game, there is a smart casual dress code where trainers, football shirts and tracksuits are not permitted.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are to go toe to toe with Kieran McKenna’s newly promoted Ipswich Town side at Anfield in the 2024/25 Premier League season. The announcement of the departure of club legend Jurgen Klopp most certainly came as a seismic shock to Reds fans and the football world as a whole, and it saw the club begin their search for the German’s successor. Arne Slot was finally announced as Liverpool’s new Head Coach back on 20th May 2024.

Slot’s managerial career began in 2016 with Cambuur in the Netherlands. In his single season with the club, he led them to promotion to the Eredivisie alongside fellow manager Sipke Hulshoff in 2016/17. He then joined AZ Alkmaar in 2017 before becoming Feyenoord boss on 15 December 2020.

During his time with Feyenoord, he was able to beat rivals PSV Eindhoven to the Eredivisie title by a margin of 7 points in the end in 2022/23. In the following season, 2023/24, Slot led his team to the club’s 14th KNVB Cup title after emerging as 1 – 0 winners at De Kuip in the Final against NEC Nijmegen. Brazilian forward Igor Paixao scored the winning goal early on in the second half (56’).

Moving on to Ipswich Town, the Tractor Boys’ current Head Coach, Kieran McKenna, took over on 16th December 2021. The 2022/23 season saw the start of the club’s meteoric rise – getting promoted from League One to the Championship in that campaign before accumulating a total of 96 points to earn a second successive promotion, this time to the Premier League. This year, they will participate in their first top-flight campaign for over 20 years.

The last time that Liverpool and Ipswich Town faced each other in a Premier League match was at Anfield on 11th March 2002 in an emphatic 5 – 0 victory for a Reds side led by then-Head Coach Gerard Houllier. John Arne Riise (13’, 35’), Michael Owen (46’), Vladimir Smicer (57’), and Nicolas Anelka (88’) were all the goal scorers for the home side that day.

These two clubs have met 72 times in competitive fixtures, and the Reds have the most victories, 37 in all, compared to 14 for the Tractor Boys. As of the time of writing, there have been 21 draws between these two teams.
