The dress code at the Old Trafford Stadium does not apply to those who are under the age of 12. Furthermore, the club has the right to refuse entry to any visitors who disobey these rules:

Manchester United, led interim Head Coach Ruud van Nistelrooy following the departure of Erik Ten Hag, are set to take on PAOK, the reigning Greek Champions, at Old Trafford in the League Phase of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League. Victory at the Theatre Of Dreams for the Red Devils would take them closer to their goal of winning this competition, where they are one of the favourites.

Ruben Amorim has been appointed as the permanent successor to Erik Ten Hag, with the Portuguese Head Coach joining from Sporting CP. Amorim officially takes charge starting from Monday 11th November 2024.

Of course, United have won this competition before. They won the Europa League for the first and so far only time back in the 2016/17 season, which saw them beat Dutch Giants Ajax 2 – 0 thanks to goals from Paul Pogba (18’) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (48’). This was under the stewardship of their former Head Coach, Jose Mourinho.

Over the years, the club has won a number of other European trophies, including three UEFA Champions League titles (1967/68, 1998/99 & 2007/08). In each of these finals, it beat Benfica 4 – 1, Bayern Munich 2 – 1, and Chelsea 6 – 5 on penalties.

In their European Cup Winners’ Cup win in the 1990/91 season, they were 2 – 1 winners against Spanish Giants FC Barcelona, while in their UEFA Super Cup win in 1991, they were 1 – 0 winners against Serbian heavyweights Red Star Belgrade, who became European Champions the same year.

PAOK has never lifted a European trophy. However, they have reached the Round of 32 four times since 2010, in the 2010/11, 2011/12, 2013/14, and most recently, the 2016/17 season. They were defeated by CSKA Moscow, Udinese, Benfica, and Schalke, respectively.

The Greek side was also UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup Quarter Finalists in 1973/74 and UEFA Conference League Quarter Finalists in 2021/22 and 2023/24, losing to Marseille (3 – 1) and Club Brugge (3 – 0), respectively. They were defeated 5 – 2 on aggregate by Italian heavyweights AC Milan in their only UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup Quarter Final to date.

Manchester United and PAOK have never met in a competitive fixture before. This historic fixture is set to take place at Old Trafford, where United hope to give their UEFA Europa League campaign a significant boost with a victory against their counterparts from the Greek Super League.
