Graham Potter’s West Ham United side is set to take on Everton, who are led by their Scottish Head Coach David Moyes at the iconic London Stadium, which is located in the heart of East London during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
If the Hammers can emerge victorious against their Merseyside counterparts, then they will be taking a crucial step closer to realising their ambitions for the current campaign, which are to secure themselves a top half finish. They will also have their eye on potentially qualifying for the European Competition, which would come via a top-seven finish in the league table.
The current Head Coach of West Ham United is, of course, the aforementioned Graham Potter, who has been in charge ever since he took over from his Spanish predecessor Julen Lopetegui back on Thursday 9th January 2025. He entered his new role at the Hammers after spells at a variety of other clubs, including Östersunds, Swansea City, Brighton, and Chelsea.
Over the course of his first few months in charge, Potter was looking to steer his side well away from the danger of relegation and climb as far up the league table as possible. He was successful in doing so, with Graham Potter guiding the Hammers to a solid 14th place finish in the English Top Flight after he was able to earn a total of 43 points from their 38 games in total overall. Ultimately, a 18-point gap separated them from the relegation zone.
West Ham’s opponents on the final day of last season (2024/25) were an away game against Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town at Portman Road. It was an emphatic and well-deserved 3 – 1 win for the Hammers thanks to the goals of James Ward-Prowse (43’), Jarrod Bowen (55’), and finally Mohammed Kudus (87’). The only goal scored by the hosts in East Anglia was via the Tractor Boys’ Welsh International forward Nathan Broadhead, who briefly restored parity for the hosts early on in the second half (52’).
Moving on to Everton, their Scottish Head Coach David Moyes has been in charge of the Toffees ever since he took over from his predecessor Sean Dyche to start his second tenure at the Merseyside Club back on Saturday 11th January 2025.
The first months in charge for Moyes saw him lead Everton for the latter half of last season, and he was able to steer them away from the relegation zone before going on to seal a respectable 13th place finish after accumulating a total of as many as 48 points from their 38 games. This saw them avoid the dreaded drop by a margin of 23 points overall.
The most recent competitive fixture between these two clubs in all competitions was played in the Premier League on Saturday, 15th March 2025, at Goodison Park, resulting in a 1–1 draw. The goal scorers in this tight and competitive contest were Jake O’Brien (90+1’) and Tomas Soucek (67’) for their respective sides.
Overall, West Ham United and Everton have met competitively in all competitions on no fewer than 153 occasions, and it is the Toffees who have a superior record of 75 victories in this fixture, compared with 45 for the Hammers. There have also been 33 draws between these two clubs to date, as of the time of writing.
