The London Stadium Hospitality Dress Code

At the London Stadium, the dress code is smart casual. We advise our guests to follow this guide of what type of clothes to wear on the day. Please be aware that these rules do not apply to those under the age of 12.

• Tracksuits are not permitted.
• Only home football shirts are permitted; if our guests arrive in ‘away’ football shirts, we have the right to refuse entry.
• Jeans and trainers are allowed.

We would like to make our guests aware that oversized bags are prohibited when on arrival to the stadium, and small clutch purses are allowed.

You could potentially be denied entry if the dress code is not met.

West Ham United and Luton Town are set to meet in a league fixture for the first time since they played against each other in Division 1 in the 1993/94 season. Fast forward to the 2023/24 Premier League season, and David Moyes’ Hammers will be looking to re-establish themselves in the race for the top half and European football, whereas Rob Edwards’ Hatters will look to secure safety from relegation and have a second successive top-flight season.

Last season, West Ham United finished the 2022/23 Premier League season in 14^th place with 40 points, with a sizeable gap of 6 points separating themselves and a spot in the relegation zone. In Europe, West Ham had a fantastic UEFA Europa Conference League campaign winning the tournament thanks to a 2-1 win against Italian Serie A side Fiorentina in the Final held in Prague. The crucial goals for the Hammers in the final came from a Saïd Benrahma penalty (62’) and a goal from Jarrod Bowen (90’).

David Moyes is currently in his second spell as the club’s Head Coach, succeeding Manuel Pellegrini at the London Stadium in December 2019 with the Hammers in danger of relegation, sitting in 17^th place with 19 points, 1 above the bottom three. Over the remainder of the 2019/20 season, Moyes managed to guide West Ham to safety, finishing in 16^th place with 39 points, 5 clear of relegation to the Championship.

West Ham United enjoyed a vastly improved season in the 2020/21 campaign, which saw them not only secure 6^th place but also a spot in the UEFA Europa League for the following season. This was their highest league finish in the club’s illustrious history. In the following season (2021/22), they did go on to finish in 7^th place with 56 points, securing UEFA Europa Conference League football. In the Europa League, they managed to reach the semi-final, where they lost 3-1 to Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt on aggregate over the two legs.

As previously mentioned, it was a 14th-place finish in the Premier League for West Ham last season (2022/23), and they did of course, win the UEFA Europa Conference League against Fiorentina in Prague.

Saïd Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen were the club’s joint leading goal scorers last season with 6 goals each. Michail Antonio got 5 goals, whilst Declan Rice and Lucas Paquetá both got 4 goals.

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards had recently been dismissed by the Hatters’ arch-rivals Watford just weeks into the 2022/23 Championship season. Edwards became Luton Town boss on 17^th November 2022 after Nathan Jones had departed for the then Premier League club Southampton just a week before that.

Edwards built on the foundations left by Jones, and he managed to guide the Hatters to a 3^rd place finish in the Championship after having accumulated 80 points. After victory over two legs in the promotion play-offs semi-finals, Luton went on to beat Coventry City 6-5 on penalties in the final after the game had ended in a 1 – 1 draw after extra time.

With that win in the Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley, Luton Town secured their first-ever Premier League season in what will also be their first season in the top flight for more than 30 years (since 1992).

Carlton Morris was Luton Town’s top league scorer last season, scoring 20 Championship goals. Only Coventry City’s Viktor Gyökeres (21) and Middlesbrough’s Chuba Akpom (28) scored more goals in England’s second tier. Elijah Adebayo was second in the Hatters’ goal-scoring charts with 10.

West Ham United and Luton Town met competitively for the first time in a league fixture on 20^th October 1900. In 90 meetings, the Hammers have the superior record of 33 wins in comparison to the Hatters’ 32. The two clubs have drawn 25 times as of the time of writing.

The most recent match played between these two teams took place in an FA Cup tie on 23^rd March 1994. The Hammers lost 3-2 at Kenilworth Road – it was Martin Allen (30’) and Ian Bishop (60’) who found the back of the net for the Hammers that day. Scott Oakes scored all three goals (35’, 46’, 74’) for the Hatters in that match.
