The London Stadium Hospitality Dress Code

At the London Stadium, the dress code is smart casual. We advise our guests to follow this guide of what type of clothes to wear on the day. Please be aware that these rules do not apply to those under the age of 12.

• Tracksuits are not permitted.
• Only home football shirts are permitted; if our guests arrive in ‘away’ football shirts, we have the right to refuse entry.
• Jeans and trainers are allowed.

We would like to make our guests aware that oversized bags are prohibited when on arrival to the stadium, and small clutch purses are allowed.

You could potentially be denied entry if the dress code is not met.

Graham Potter’s West Ham United are set to welcome Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United to the London Stadium in the 2024/25 Premier League season. With both of these clubs looking to secure European Football, this will be a crucial game in East London, and if the Hammers come out on top, that victory would see them take a step closer to realising their ambitions for this campaign.

Potter has been the Hammers’ current Head Coach ever since the London Club confirmed the Englishman as the successor to his Spanish counterpart Julen Lopetegui back on Thursday 9th January 2025.

Potter’s journey to the London Stadium began when he took charge of Swedish Club Ostersund, which was his first ever senior management role. He went on to enjoy amazing success during his 7 year spell there, from 2011 to 2018. He worked his magic, and he was able to lead the club to no less than three promotions in almost as many seasons, taking them from the fourth tier all the way to the top flight of Swedish Football – which is known as the Allsvenskan.

He led them to the Final of the Svenska Cupen, in the 2016/17 campaign, where they were able to emerge with an emphatic to a 4 – 1 victory against Norrkoping in what is the equivalent of the FA Cup in Sweden. This saw them successfully secure qualification for the highly prestigious UEFA Europa League in tremendous fashion back in the 2017/18 season. They would go on to be eliminated over two legs by Arsenal in the Round of 32.

After a successful stint with Swansea City, who had just been relegated to the EFL Championship, from 2018 to 2019, Potter was appointed by Premier League Club Brighton after the dismissal of Chris Hughton. In his three year spell with the Seagulls between 2019 and 2022, he led the South Coast Club to a first ever victory against Manchester United in the entire history of the club, whilst also battling consistently for European Football. Potter also led them to their best ever Premier League points total of 51 points to secure a 9th place finish – breaking the previous record of 41 by a grand total of no less than 10 points in the end overall.

Then followed a short stint at Chelsea, taking charge of the West London Club from 8th September 2022 to 2nd April 2023.

Moving on to Newcastle United, their current Head Coach, Eddie Howe, took charge of the Magpies after succeeding Steve Bruce at St. James’s Park back on 8th November 2021. The end of the former Bournemouth Manager’s first half-season at the club saw them climb up to an 11thplace finish with a total of 49 points.

In his first full season with the North East outfit, he led them to an extraordinary total of 71 points, which was enough for them to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in more than 20 years thanks to a fourth-place finish.

Last season, they beat French Champions Paris Saint-Germain 4 – 1 at St. James’s Park, but they were ultimately knocked out of the Champions League in the Group Stages. In the Premier League, they ended their 2023/24 campaign with a 7th place finish with a total of 60 points, but this was not enough for European Football after Manchester United were able to beat their cross-city rivals Manchester City to win the 2024 FA Cup at Wembley Stadium.

These two clubs have met in all competitions 145 times, and the Magpies have a superior record of 60 victories compared with the Hammers’ 44 so far. As of the time of writing, there have been 41 draws between these two teams.

West Ham United and Newcastle United are set to play each other at the London Stadium in the 2024/25 Premier League season. This game is set to be enthralling and highly competitive, with a tremendous atmosphere to boot.
