West Ham United, who are currently led by their English Head Coach Graham Potter, are coming face to face with Vitor Pereira’s Wolves side at the iconic London Stadium that is located in the heart of East London during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Suppose the Hammers can emerge victorious with all three points against the Old Gold. In that case, they will be able to take what would be a crucial step closer to them realising their ambitions for the current campaign, which are to secure a top half finish, whilst potentially even pushing for European Qualification this term via a top seven finish.
The aforementioned Graham Potter is, of course, the current Head Coach of West Ham United Football Club, and he has held this position since it was confirmed that he would replace his Spanish counterpart, Julen Lopetegui, on Thursday, 9th January 2025. He has had plenty of experience before joining the Hammers, having been in charge of clubs such as Östersunds, Swansea City, Brighton, and Chelsea.
The first few months of Potter’s reign at West Ham saw him tasked with the challenge of climbing the table away from the relegation zone. He succeeded in doing so, with the Englishman guiding his new side to what was a 14th place finish in the end after they had managed to earn as many as 43 points from their 38 top flight matches in all. They ended up with what was a considerable gap of 18 points between themselves and the bottom three.
In the final game of last season (2024/25), the Hammers came face to face with relegated Ipswich Town away from Portman Road. It was a commanding and a well deserved 3 – 1 victory for Graham Potter’s West Ham United side thanks to the goals from the likes of James Ward-Prowse (43’), Jarrod Bowen (55’), and Mohammed Kudus (87’), whilst the only goal for the hosts was scored by the Tractor Boys’ Welsh International forward Nathan Broadhead who scored the goal that briefly put Ipswich Town on level terms in the early in the second half (52’).
Moving on to Wolves, their Portuguese Head Coach Vitor Pereira has been in charge of the Old Gold ever since he took charge of the club back on Thursday 19th December 2024, with him succeeding Gary O’Neil in the hot seat at Molineux.
Throughout the remainder of that campaign, he was able to guide Wolves to safety, with the club avoiding relegation with what was a 16th place finish after they were able to accumulate a total of 42 points from their 38 matches, which was enough for them to survive with what was a 17 point gap between themselves and the relegation zone in the end.
The 2025/26 Premier League campaign is to be Vitor Pereira’s first full season in charge of Wolves since he took charge late last year.
The most recent competitive fixture played between these two clubs at the London Stadium in all competitions was in the Premier League on Monday, 9th December 2024. It was a 2 – 1 triumph for the hosts, with the Hammers scoring their goals through the likes of Tomas Soucek (54’) and Jarrod Bowen (72’), whilst it was right back Matt Doherty who scored the only goal of the game for Wolves on that day (69’).
Overall, West Ham United and Wolves have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 75 occasions, and it is West Ham who do currently have the superior record of as many as 36 victories in this fixture so far, whilst there have been 25 wins in total for Wolves. There have also been 14 draws between these two clubs to date, as of the time of writing.
