Vitor Pereira’s Wolves are set to come face to face with a Brighton side who are currently led by their German Head Coach Fabian Hürzeler at the iconic and historic Molineux during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Suppose the Midlands outfit can secure what would be an important victory against their South Coast counterparts. In that case, they will have taken a vital step closer to realising their ambition for the current campaign, which is to secure a mid-table finish, whilst also potentially pushing for a spot in the top half of the table.
The aforementioned Vitor Pereira is, of course, the current Head Coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, and this is a post that has been held by the Portuguese since his appointment by the club back on Thursday 19th December 2024. He succeeded Gary O’Neil in the role.
The opening few months of his reign saw him take charge of the club initially for the final games of the 2024/25 campaign. Pereira was tasked with leading Wolves to safety, whilst also leading his new side in a climb up the top flight table. He was successful in doing so in the end, with his side eventually going on to seal what was a 16th place finish after earning a grand total of 42 points from their 38 games. They avoided the dreaded drop by a margin of no less than 17 points in the end.
The much anticipated 2025/26 Premier League campaign will be Vitor Pereira’s first full season in charge of the Old Gold.
During his time at the club so far, the Portuguese has led them to some standout results – one of which was a well-deserved and ruthless 4 – 2 triumph over their North London counterparts, Spurs, at Molineux. The hosts were able to score their goals through the likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri (2’), Jorgen Strand Larsen (64’), and Matheus Cunha (86’), and there was also an own goal from Spurs defender Djed Spence in the latter stages of the first half (38’).
Spurs were able to score their goals on that day thanks to forward Mathys Tel (59’) and Richarlison (85’), who both found the back of the net in the second half.
Moving on to Brighton, their German Head Coach Fabian Hürzeler has been in charge of the South Coast based club since his appointment back on Saturday 15th June 2024. He joined as the successor to Roberto De Zerbi, who had departed for French Club Marseille a short time before Hürzeler joined the Seagulls.
The 2024/25 campaign was indeed his debut season in charge of the club, and he was able to lead his side in what was an intense fight for European Football, but they did go on to miss out on a top seven finish in the end, but only narrowly. Brighton, led by Hürzeler, ultimately finished in 8th place with a total of 61 points, narrowly missing out on a highly coveted spot in Europe by just 4 points in the end.
Overall, Wolves and Brighton have met competitively in all competitions on at least 46 occasions, and it is the Seagulls who currently hold the superior record, with 21 victories in this fixture, compared to 9 for the Old Gold. There have also been 16 draws between these two clubs to date, as of the time of writing.
