Vitor Pereira’s Wolves side are set to take on a newly promoted Burnley, who are currently led by their English Head Coach Scott Parker, at the iconic and historic Molineux during the 2025/26 Premier League season. A victory here against the Clarets would see the Old Gold take a step closer to realising their ambitions for the current campaign, which are to seal a mid table finish, whilst even potentially ending up with a top half finish in the league instead.

Wolves, who are currently led by their Portuguese Head Coach Vitor Pereira, who is set to lead the Old Gold in a game against Scott Parker’s newly promoted Burnley side at the iconic and historic Molineux during the 2025/26 Premier League season.
If victory is successfully secured by Wolves in this game against their Lancashire counterparts, it would see them able to take a step closer to realising their ambitions for the season, which are to secure a mid table finish, or they could even push for a top half finish once the campaign comes to a close in May 2026.
The current Head Coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club is, of course, the aforementioned Vitor Pereira. Pereira has been in charge ever since his appointment was confirmed back on Thursday 19th December 2024, where he succeeded his English counterpart, Gary O’Neil, in the Molineux dugout.
The first months of Pereira’s time in charge of the Old Gold saw him tasked with keeping his new side in the English Top flight, whilst also pushing as high as possible up the table by the time that the 2024/25 season had concluded in May 2025. It was a 16th place finish in the end, with them having a total of 42 points to their name after 38 games, which meant that they had a gap of as many as 17 points between themselves and the bottom three in the end.
The 2025/26 Premier League campaign will be the first full season in charge of Wolves for current boss Vitor Pereira.
Throughout his time at the Midlands Club so far, Pereira has led his club to several memorable victories, one of which was a 4 – 2 win against Spurs at Molineux last season. This victory against their North London counterparts was successfully secured thanks to goals from the likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri (2’), Jorgen Strand Larsen (64’), and Matheus Cunha (86’), whilst there was also an own goal from Spurs defender Djed Spence in the latter stages of the first half (38’).
The two goals that Spurs scored in this game were from efforts by the likes of forwards Mathys Tel (59’) and Richarlison (85’) in the second half.
Moving on to Burnley, their English Head Coach Scott Parker has been in charge of the Lancashire-based club ever since he took charge of the Clarets back on Friday, 5th July 2024, following the departure of his predecessor, Vincent Kompany, for the German Giants Bayern Munich a short time before Parker’s arrival.
The 2024/25 campaign was his first full season in charge, with him going on to lead his side in what was a very successful EFL Championship season for Parker and his team. They went on to accumulate a total of 100 points from their 46 matches, finishing in 2nd place and returning to the Premier League for the first time. They only missed out on the title to Daniel Farke’s Leeds United on goal difference.
The last time that these two clubs went head to head in a competitive game in all competitions came in the Second Round of the 2024/25 Carabao Cup at Molineux. It was a 2 – 0 win for Wolves in the end, with the Old Gold scoring their goals thanks to what was a superb brace from their Portuguese forward Goncalo Guedes, who was able to score their goals either side of half time (38’, 54’).
Overall, Wolves and Burnley have met competitively in all competitions on no less than 140 occasions, and it is the Old Gold who currently have the superior record of as many as 68 wins in this fixture, compared with the Clarets’ 41 victories against their Midlands counterparts so far. There have also been 31 draws between these two teams to date, as of the time of writing.
