The 2026 Grand National was won by I Am Maximus, ridden by Paul Townend and trained by Willie Mullins, securing the horse’s second victory in the race following his earlier success in 2024. Should I Am Maximus return in 2027, a third victory would place him among an exceptionally select group of multiple Grand National winners.

The Grand National is a spectacle of colour for all three days of the festival, with many using their trip as an opportunity to showcase their favourite raceday looks.

For VIP hospitality at the Grand National, we recommend men wear a blazer or suit with a shirt and tie, and women wear elegant dresses or tailored separates. Additionally, hats and fascinators are a popular choice of accessories for the event. For Ladies’ Day (9th of April), we recommend women wear standout dresses with statement fascinators.

  • To Start: Port of Lancaster hot-smoked salmon with sweet and sour red onions, lemon aioli and pearls, served with yoghurt dressing
  • Main Course: Contré-filet of locally sourced beef with beef fat and Lancashire cheese rarebit, Wirral watercress salsa, butter-poached potato and Roscoff onion purée
  • Dessert: Milk and honey with panna cotta, gel, tuile, whipped ricotta, fennel and lemon crumb
