The All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club set about regularising laws of lawn tennis in 1877, resulting in its first Wimbledon tournament running at Devonshire Park in July of that year.

Eastbourne parking is available at the JCP Junction Road car park off Ashford Road and the NCP car park at Trinity Place. The Saffrons Car Park (off Compton Place – BN21 1EA) is a public parking area with a £7 charge per car, per day. For further parking locations, guests can go to the official Eastbourne International Parking website.

How do I get to the Lexus Eastbourne Open by bus?
The National Express services run direct from London Victoria Coach Station to Eastbourne Town Centre. Stagecoach operates buses in and around Eastbourne, including assistance to Hastings.
Brighton and Hove’s buses also operate Coaster buses between Eastbourne and Brighton, passing through scenic National Park. Special shuttle services will be running during the week of the LTA Eastbourne.
How do I get to the Lexus Eastbourne Open by train?
Fortunately, Eastbourne is well connected via the Southern Rail service, approximately 90 minutes from London Vicotria Station, via London Gatwick Airport.
The train station doesn’t offer step-free access; however, staff are on hand between 6am-10pm to assist. The walk from Eastbourne Station to Devonshire Park is approximately 0.8 miles and will take between 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, there are taxis located outside Eastbourne station, costing £5-£6.
Will there be wheelchair spaces available during the Eastbourne Open?
There are several wheelchairs spaces available on Centre Court, Court 1 and Court 2 at Devonshire Park, which provide space for one wheelchair user accompanied by a carer.

Spectators are advised that laptops and professional video equipment are not permitted on site. Flash photography and photographic equipment with more than 300mm lenses are not allowed on site. Please note that mobile phones must be switched off in the vicinity of the courts.
