Wimbledon always promises to be enthralling and often produces several surprises and memorable moments that attendees will remember for years to come. For example, the Men’s Singles Final back in 2023 produced a moment that made history – Novak Djokovic had been dominant in recent years, having won the singles title in six of the last eight years. The Serbian did come up against number 1 Carlos Alcaraz, who produced a performance to remember to beat Djokovic in five sets (1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6 & 6-4).

This was not only Alcaraz’s first Wimbledon title; the Spaniard was the first person not named Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic or Andy Murray to win the Men’s Singles title since 2002.

That year also saw Markéta Vondroušová won the Women’s Singles title, which was also a historic moment for the Wimbledon Championships. The Czech became the first ever unseeded player to win the Women’s Singles title, beating number 6 seed Ons Jabeur 6 – 4, 6 – 4 in one of the biggest shocks in Wimbledon’s history.

Wesley Koolhof & Neal Skupski beat Horacio Zeballos & Marcel Granollers 6 – 4, 6 – 4 won the  2023 Men’s Doubles title. As for the Women’s Doubles title, Barbora Strýcová & Hsieh Su-wei won after an exciting match that saw them beat Elise Mertens and Storm Sanders 5 – 7, 4 – 6. Finally, the 2023 Mixed Doubles Final saw Mate Pavić and Lyudmyla Kichenok victorious against Xu Yifan and Joran Vliegen.

The 2024 Wimbledon Championships were also enthralling, and Carlos Alcaraz, the winner of the Men’s Singles, was able to beat Novak Djokovic once again. As for the men’s doubles, Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara emerged victorious over Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson, following an enthralling contest.

As for the 2024 Women’s Singles Final winner, this was Barbora Krejcikova who was able to defeat Jasmine Paolini successfully. Meanwhile, in the doubles, Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were the winners against a pairing of Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe in the end after what was an exciting and competitive contest.

Some shocking results occurred over the course of the 2024 Championship. One such moment happened when Marketa Vondrousova, the reigning Wimbledon Champion, was defeated in the first round 6 – 4, 6 – 2 against Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, in what was Maneiro’s first Grand Slam victory. This was the first time since 1984 that the defending champion had been knocked out at this stage of the competition.

There was also a historic moment, as the 2024 Wimbledon Championship saw Great Britain’s Andy Murray take part in his final ever match in the first round of the Men’s Doubles, when he and his brother Jamie Murray were knocked out by being defeated by 7(8) – 6(6), 6 – 4 by Australia’s John Peers and Rinky Hijikata. Murray retired from the sport following the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Andy Murray is a two-time Wimbledon singles Champion, having beaten Novak Djokovic and Milos Raonic in the 2013 and 2016 Finals, respectively. The Brit retires as a legend of the sport.

In the 2025 Championships, new champions were crowned. Starting with the Men’s Singles, it was Jannik Sinner who was able to beat the reigning Champion Carlos Alcaraz in what was a historic win, with the Italian defeating his Spanish counterpart 4 – 6, 6 – 4, 6 – 4, 6 – 4.

As for the men’s doubles, this saw British pair Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool defeat David Pel and Rinky Hijikata 2 – 6, 6(3) – 7 (7) in the end.

Moving on to the Women’s singles the 2025 Champion was Poland’s Iga Swiatek, who was able to beat Amanda Anisimova of the United States in an extraordinary final, with Swiatek winning 6 – 0, 6 – 0 in extraordinary fashion.

The Women’s Doubles Final was won by Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens, who were 6 – 3, 2 – 6, 4 – 6 winners against their opponents, which was a pairing of Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su-wei.

When will Wimbledon take place in 2026?

The latest iteration of the iconic and historic Wimbledon Championship is set to take place from Monday, 29th June to Sunday, 12th July 2026. Some of the best players in the world come together to compete for one of the most prestigious titles in the sport of tennis.

Is there a dress code for the Wimbledon Championships?

There is no specific dress code for men or women to attend Wimbledon on any day, though you’ll still need to dress smartly. You also need to consider the weather conditions when choosing your outfit for the day.

What should women wear at Wimbledon in 2026?

This, of course, depends on the weather. Women can wear a light jacket over a summer dress. Additionally, sunglasses are ideal if it’s sunny. Although hats are not required for this event, a Panama hat can be worn, as traditional hats can block the view of the person behind you.

You can also wear a jumpsuit with heels, flats, or wedges, and blouses can also be paired with your trousers or skirt.

In terms of shoes, there are a plethora of options, with heels, wedges, and flats all deemed acceptable footwear for women attending the highly prestigious Wimbledon Championships.

What should men wear at Wimbledon in 2026?

Men should strongly consider wearing a tailored suit whilst attending matches at the upcoming Wimbledon Championships in 2026. You can instead opt for linen or a lighter coloured suit if that is your preference. Keep in mind that this is a tournament that takes place around the midpoint of the summer season.

Smart shirts, including those made by Ralph Lauren, are advised, and then pair it with a tie. If you decide not to opt for a one-piece suit, you can wear slim-fit trousers or chinos in colours such as beige, navy, or a bolder shade if you prefer. You should avoid wearing jeans, though, as this may be deemed too casual.

Trainers are not permitted; it is recommended that you wear smart, formal black shoes or loafers instead.
