They avoided relegation by a margin of just 2 points in the end.

Last season, 2023/24, Dyche’s Toffees had to battle against several points deductions over the course of their campaign, and they were, in the end, able to finish in 15th place with 40 points. They comfortably avoided relegation by a margin of 14 points in total.

These two clubs have played against each other at least 231 times in competitive fixtures in all competitions over the years, and Villa have the superior record of 87 wins compared to the Toffees’ total of 83. There have also been 61 draws between the Villans and their Merseyside counterparts over the years.
