Everton v Hull City
Premier League 2026/27
Fixture Date – To be confirmed
Kick-off – To be confirmed
Hill Dickinson Stadium, Merseyside
David Moyes’ Everton will host newly promoted Hull City in a hugely anticipated Premier League clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Hull gained Premier League promotion in perhaps the most dramatic way possible. After finding out their play-off final opponents just 72 hours before kick-off, Hull frontman Oli McBurnie poked home his close-range effort in the last minute of stoppage time to send Tigers’ supporters into raptures and promote them to the promised land.
Moyes will be hoping to take Everton back to the European stage after narrowly missing out last season. The Toffees haven’t competed on the continent since 2018 and will be eager to bring Europe’s elites to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Led by the experienced David Moyes, Everton finished last season in 13th. Despite finishing in the bottom half, the Toffees were in the race for European qualification throughout the campaign and narrowly missed out by just four points.
The aim this year will be to go one step further and qualify to play on the continental stage and face some of Europe’s elite at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the very first time.
Everton boasts some of the most exciting talent in the country, with the likes of Iliman N’Diaye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jordan Pickford and James Garner being some of their key men.
N’Diaye and Dewsbury-Hall recorded 23 goal contributions between them in all competitions last season and will once again be key to Everton’s hopes of a successful season.
This will be Moyes’ 21st season in charge of a Premier League side after previous spells at Sunderland, West Ham United, Manchester United and his first spell at Everton, which spanned from 2001 to 2012.
Hull City’s 2025/26 season will go down as one of those years supporters talk about for a long time. It ended with promotion back to the Premier League, achieved in the most dramatic way imaginable, as they beat Middlesbrough 1–0 in the play-off final at Wembley thanks to a 95th-minute winner from Oli McBurnie. After finishing 6th in the Championship, Hull became the first team in that position to win promotion since 2010, underlining just how hard-earned the achievement was.
A big part of the story is Sergej Jakirović, appointed in June 2025 after leaving Kayserispor. He arrived with his coaching team and quickly set about giving Hull more structure and belief. His first game, a 0–0 draw with Coventry City in August, summed up the early stages of his reign. Organised, competitive, but still building something.
As the season went on, Hull became tougher to break down and more consistent in big moments. They didn’t always play flashy football, but they found a way to stay in the fight, which ultimately carried them into the play-offs.
By the spring, Jakirović’s work was being recognised more widely, with a nomination for Championship Manager of the Year reflecting the job he had done in stabilising and pushing the team forward. The play-off semi-final win over Millwall set up the Wembley final, where Hull produced one of those unforgettable finishes that define a season.
Overall, these two clubs have gone head-to-head in competitive fixtures across all competitions on 24 occasions, and the hosts have the superior record with 11 wins. The visitors have won 7 times against the Toffees, with 6 draws between the pair.
