The dress code for hospitality facilities at Anfield Stadium is smart casual to ensure a formal atmosphere.

As Anfield offers elite Liverpool hospitality services, why not look the part? Avid Liverpool FC supporters will be glad to know that they can still deck out in your favourite team’s jerseys; however, you will be expected to maintain formal attire to reflect the sophisticated hospitality suites.

Hospitality guests are not permitted to wear ripped denim or tracksuits. In addition to this, please be aware that if you are arriving at The Beautiful Game, there is a smart casual dress code where trainers, football shirts and tracksuits are not permitted.

Liverpool, led by Arne Slot, is set to take on Conor Hourihane’s Barnsley, who currently compete in League One, in the Third Round of the 2025/26 FA Cup. This tie is set to take place at the iconic and historic Anfield in the heart of Merseyside. The Reds will be looking to avoid an upset and get themselves a place in the Fourth Round – one step closer to the Final at Wembley in May 2026.

Both clubs have previously won this prestigious and historic domestic cup competition.

Starting with Liverpool, they have won it 8 times, which is the joint third-best of any club, alongside Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Only fierce rivals Manchester United and Arsenal have won it more than the Reds, with 13 and 14 wins respectively.

Liverpool’s maiden FA Cup Final triumph came back in the 1964/65 season, where they were 2 – 1 winners against Leeds United in extra time at Wembley thanks to goals from Roger Hunt (93’) and Ian St John (117’), with Billy Bremner scoring Leeds’ only goal of the game on that particular day (100’).

The Reds were then 3 – 0 winners in the 1974 Final against Newcastle United before a third triumph then arrived twelve years later in 1986, where they were able to get the better of their fierce Merseyside rivals Everton, who they were able to beat comfortably 3 – 1 through goals from the legendary Ian Rush (56’, 83’) and Craig Johnston (62’) at Wembley. Gary Lineker scored the only goal for the Toffees on that day in the first half (27’).

The 1989 Final saw Liverpool defeat Everton again at Wembley, this time winning 3 – 2. Sunderland were beaten 2 – 0 in the 1992 Final by Liverpool, before the Reds were triumphant once again in 2001, where they were 2 – 1 winners against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

2006 saw them beat West Ham 3–1 on penalties to win the FA Cup after an initial 3–3 draw at Wembley Stadium. The Reds’ latest FA Cup win came in the Final back in 2022, when they beat Chelsea 6–5 in a tense penalty shootout following a 0–0 draw after the ninety minutes and extra time.

They will now be looking for their ninth FA Cup triumph, and a victory over third-tier Barnsley can strengthen their chances of doing so.

Moving on the aforementioned Barnsley, the League One side have indeed won the FA Cup in their past, doing so for the first and so far only time all the way back in the 1911/12 season, where they were able to successfully beat West Bromwich Albion 1 – 0 in a replay thanks to a goal late on in extra time from Harry Tufnell at Bramall Lane in Sheffield (118’).

Liverpool and Barnsley have met several times in the FA Cup, and the only time that the Tykes have got the better of the Reds was when they last met in this competition in 2008, when they were able to beat Liverpool 2 – 1 at Anfield.

All eyes will be on who will be victorious in this Third Round tie in the 2025/26 FA Cup at the aforementioned Anfield, with the Reds looking to win some more silverware this season following their Premier League triumph last term.
