It could be a title decider, with this being the penultimate home game for the Reds and the third-to-last game of the campaign for both sides.
Liverpool has shown plenty of form and consistency in recent years, which is evident in the number of trophies they have won in all competitions. They will also know that momentum will be another crucial ingredient for a title race this year, and they will want to beat the Blues to take a significant step closer to being Champions of England once more.
With Jurgen Klopp departing the club following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, the club were swift in the appointment of the club legend’s successor at the club with Dutchman Arne Slot being chosen to take over from the German, with him officially taking charge on 1st June 2024.

This was no less than 10 points more than the runners-up Arsenal in second place.
Throughout the 2024/25 season, Reds fans from around the world enjoyed numerous incredible results and performances. One particular result that stood out amongst the rest was that thoroughly deserved and emphatic 5 – 1 triumph at Anfield.

Moving on to Chelsea, their Italian Head Coach Enzo Maresca has been in charge of the Stamford Bridge club since taking over from his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino, with his tenure officially getting underway back on 1st July 2024 ahead of a season that was rapidly approaching.
His first full season in charge, 2024/25, saw him guide the Blues of West London to a very credible 3rd place finish in the Premier League after they earned a grand total of 69 points from their 38 matches last term.
It saw them qualify for this season’s UEFA Champions League following a short absence from the competition, whilst they did also win the 2025 UEFA Conference League title after emphatically beating Spanish outfit Real Betis 4 – 1 following goals from the likes of Enzo Fernandez (65’), Nicolas Jackson (70’), Jadon Sancho (83’), and also Moises Caicedo late on in the game in what was second half stoppage time (90+1’).
